Now after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' servant, saying, 'Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go across this Jordan, you and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them, even to the children of Israel. Joshua 1:1 WEB
Moses the servant of the Lord died at 120 years old and the Lord Himself buried him (Deuteronomy 34:6). No one knows exactly where to this day. The devil was upset about this because he wanted the body of Moses (Jude 1:9). The people would have turned his grave into a shrine or an idol and begun worshiping there and praying to it. There could have began a new religion of Moses worship.
All Israel mourned and wept for Moses for thirty days, then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended (Deuteronomy 34:8). When the thirty days had passed, and the mourning was completed, the Lord told them, 'Moses my servant is dead, Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan' (Joshua 1:2). After the death of Moses, Israel entered the promised land.
This period signaled a clear ending to an era, so that a new era could begin. The end of wandering in the desert, the beginning of taking the promised land. Though they were sad and mourned the passing of Moses, in order to move forward it was necessary. The old passed away and then the new began.
When our computer business began to dry up, we went to our pastor and got him to pray with us. During prayer he said 'Something new. The Lord is doing something new.' About a month later, I was a full time pastor myself. That was quite a change for us.
At times, God will end something in our life that we cling to. When we finally let it go, He will bring in a new era. It is not pleasant when it is happening and there may be mourning, a passing away. If He had not closed our business, then I would not be in ministry. For you to move forward into your real destiny, at some point, the old must pass away.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, have Your way in my life for I know that it is best. I want what You have for me. Give me the grace to roll with the changes and help me to see the big picture, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, I've lost all family members as they have moved on to eternal rest. Though I feel alone many times, I know you are always with me! There are moments when I feel such a sense of loss, grief and loneliness; however, you sustain me everyday and continue to move me forward. While I understand that the old must pass away; there is still some difficulty for me with such losses; however, each day is anew and with that, I keep moving forward because this is the new beginning. Thank you Father in Heaven for never leaving my side! Amen!!
Exactly how I feel. God bless you. Amen.

When my Charlie died I felt the world was finished for me. I longed to die. I'm still in deep grief. This devotional is very much helpful to me. I forwarded it to my cousin and her husband who had to close their business a few years ago and lost their autonomy but God has always provided for them. Thank you and thanks God. Amen.
God is awesome....blessings to all....peace and love...Amen
In our lives nothing but God's Word is set in stone. We often experience the winds of change. Sometimes they start as a breeze and slowly build, sometimes they come in like a raging hurricane. They may leave us teetering and grasping for a life line. As we reach out to Him, He sets our feet once again upon solid ground. We should embrace our lives as Christians as being a great adventure, with paths unknown to travel. We should not fear when the winds of change come, we should be excited that God is doing something "new". Oh if we all could just walk in complete faith and have no fear, what a more pleasant life we would lead. I pray that Abba gives us perfect faith without any fear of our todays or tomorrows in this world.
amen
Dear Lord have your way in my life in Jesus Name I pray amen.
Thank you Pastor Todd always for your faithfulness in blessings us with Gods daily devotinal messages
Thank you so much for this today!!! I lost my little brother who was my best friend this past December 9th to what they ruled as a suicide. But there wasn't really an investigation & his ex- girlfriend has caused so many problems with our family & refuses to return any of his things to our family. I miss him so much but I keep seeing the same things over & over again in the devotionals I read about God doesn't manufacture pain but He sure puts it to good use to bring about healing & strengthening our faith. & Luke 12:2 "Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be let known." I keep seeing those same things over & over again. I'm working on forgiving her...not for her sake but for mine & my family's because God forgives me daily. I have also come to the realization that IF he did actually do this it was because he was ready to see his Heavenly Father & he was no longer scared of dying but he was scared of living. She was horrible to him. & I'm not the only one who saw that. Everyone did. He had half a city show up for his funeral because he was so loved by everyone. She kicked him out just a few days prior to his passing & i have the screenshot where he was begging her to just give him a chance to find somewhere to go. I miss him dearly but I know I will see him again one day & he is in a much better place than I am right now. Thank you again for today's devotional was perfect for me.
I know with me I have a hard time letting go of the past I am a creature of habit I pray that I can put my past behind me and trust in the Lord to lead me where he needs me!
