Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers; But his delight is in Yahweh's law; On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That brings forth its fruit in its se...

When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean." Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8...

The Black Sheep

  • Out of that terrible travail of soul, he'll see that it's worth it and be glad he did it. Through what he experienced, my righteous one, my servant, will make many 'righteous ones,' as he himself carries the burden of their sins. Therefore I'll reward him extravagantly' the best of everything, the highest honors'Because he looked death in the face and didn't flinch, because he embraced the company of the lowest. He took on his own shoulders the sin of the many, he took up the cause of all the black sheep. Isaiah 53:11 ESV

I grew up as the least of my family, who at the time was the least of another family. The youngest of thirteen kids and a stepchild on top of that. Every day, it was made clear that I did not belong there and never would.

Have you ever felt like the black sheep in the family? Made some mistakes, or maybe like me, you are the mistake and never able to get free of it? After enough pain, we become closed off to the world.

Be encouraged. Jesus has friends in low places and He found me there. Jesus redeemed me, added me to His family and healed my heart. He took up the cause of troubled and hurting people and He will take your burden today, if you will let Him.

Remember, today is the first day of the rest of your life. What you have been in the past is gone and you decide who you will be from this day forward. Remember that if you are a black sheep, your brightest days are still ahead of you!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I believe that You are there for me. When the world looks the other way, You still look my way. Help me to see the world through Your eyes, in the name of Jesus I pray.

Note: Happy Friday! We pray you all have a very blessed day. If you are in need of prayer, please feel free to send in a request via the prayer link on the site menu. I sure needed this. I have trouble with the heartache of being in foster care abused by most that passed my way. Finally I was told two years ago by ky own mother  " I  wish I would have given you away" I  have been pained daily from those words of hate. I am lucky to haym the FATHER  that loves me unconditionally. I ask for strength everyday from my broken heart. All your prayers would help. Love

Heavenly Father Thank you for each new day and your bountiful blessings you send our way. I ask that you lift my sister in Christ up. Send your Healing Angels down to minister to Lisa and mend her broken heart <3 Restore faith, give her peace, replace the pain with your love. Send loving and caring people into her life to shower Lisa with your love, aid in healing and have companions. Wrap her in your arms and let her feel you presence in her life. Bless and Prosper Lisa always in you Father. In Jesus name I pray

Lisa , I understand your pain. Praying with you <3 WE have a wonderful group here called Haven of Hope. It is a private group and it has many supportive people who lift each other up as we have all felt the sting of abuse in some way or another and understand it's effects. If you haven't checked it out I invite you to. God bless

Good Morning!! Between this writing and Spiritual Warrior I'm pretty pumped!! The things I do, say the steps I take will keep this going! I've been quenching the Spirit-hum how Hedeious... I realize now, the way I've been seeing things, feeling are all part of separation, from Him. Seeing through His eyes is the coolest!!I got complacent in that taking it for granted... My life has certainly exzibed this!!! hurts deeply..Self defeating behavors!!! His certainly the Greatest Teach!!!   Amazing thinking back-in Recovery I found I was let go-not have been paid attention too more than I was! Seems My Mom resented My confidence as a young boy, coming from the Holy Spirit!! I instantly for gave Her and dug deeper into that Power friend I had in Jesus!!! As now, knowing I'm forgiven for My shortcomings and His guidance will set Me free!!!

I sense a theme building here today.  Before I read this devotional today, I listened to a message that said see yourself through your own eyes and not through someone else's.  Although others may view us as a black sheep we don't have to see ourselves in that light.  Have the power to create your own destiny and see yourself for who you truly are and who you aspire to be.

Oh how I can relate! I've always been the black sheep in my earthly family, which makes me long so much more for my heavenly family!

Fortunately for me, I was blessed by the Father and born into a good family which I love dearly. Of course, I had troubles growing up, the typical growing pains of the adolescent years. Got into drinking a little hanging out with unsavory crowds. We all go through our little rebellious phases. But the Lord reminded me of what I had and He showed me, quite clearly the error of my ways and got me to reconsider what I was doing, who I was going to become. I owe Him dearly for that. My life is still a mess, but I am grateful that He is helping me put the peices back together. There has been a few times in my life where He has saved me, and I am and forever shall be thankful He was looking out for me. It took me until just now to realize some of these things. Little reminders of His great works in my life. Lord, I thank you for all the blessings for all the times you have watched out for me and I apoloigize for not seeing it sooner. I pray that you can forgive my shortsightedness andguide my steps to a brighter tomorrow. For you, I have faith in and I trust you to do what is right and good.
