  • The Day of Small Things from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. As with many of my messages, this was a word for me, but I will share it with you as I found it encouraging. I have been building a new social media website for Refreshing Hope behind the scenes for months. It is a massive undertak...
  • Now after these things, the Lord also appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two ahead of him into every city and place where he was about to come. Then he said to them, "The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send ou...

Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God," for God can't be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth dea...

Baby Steps

  • Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps strayed from your path Psalms 44:18 WEB

If you begin to dig too deep into the 'shall' and 'shall nots' of the Bible and to compare it to your life, to examine all of your flaws and shortcomings, it will soon overwhelm you and you will spiral into an attitude of defeat. 'I can't do this, why bother?'

There is often a seemingly unlimited list of things that need to be made right before you stand 'Right with God', before you are ready to pray for someone, or to speak something in faith, before it is you encouraging someone else. After dwelling on the 'list' for a while, people often just give it up as a lost cause.

There is a better solution to this problem: just keep putting one foot in front of the other one and do not focus inward on yourself, instead focus on Jesus. Live your life one day at a time and involve the Lord in your plans while doing the best that you can, today. You will soon find yourself fulfilling His will in your life, and bringing His Kingdom into your environment.

Yes, we have a lot of problems, but it's all that we have got going so lets make the best of it. Even if you take baby steps, you will still be moving forward each day. The Lord is always more concerned about who you are becoming as a person, than about what you do for Him.

I have heard it said that if you do not change your direction, then you will end up where you are headed. Relax. You will do this and you will be successful, if you keep a positive attitude and keep pressing forward. Do not get overwhelmed, and do not turn back. God loves you, and He is proud of the progress that you have made. Let go of the do's and don'ts and just say 'Lord, just as I am, I give myself to You. Please help me.'

Prayer: Father, forgive me for sometimes taking my eyes off of You and getting overwhelmed with rules that I don't really understand that well. Make Your love simple to me and reveal it to me in an unmistakable way, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Mark Duell
Mark Duell Amen. Thank you Pastor Dion for your continued service for our King of all kings. I think my biggest issue is the flesh that is weak but the spirit is strong. I continue to strive for what is pure and holy. But i feel worthless when I have fallen. But I know through His Word there is forgiveness as long as there is true repentance.

Diane Symborski✝
Diane Symborski✝ Amen!! Thanks for my daily devotion Pastor Dion. I feel like i'm taking baby steps now my doctor told me i'e not stopped dropping medication for over 4 years. He told me i'm at a safe dose he said take one, two or the whole summer off from dropping. He said if I want I can drop but I have to say i'm feeling pretty good taking this break. When I start back to dropping i'm going to take baby steps. I saw my christian therapist tonight and she said she agrees with my doctor. I've been non srop dropping for over for years no wonder I could never stop crying. Thank you for this devotion today I don't feel so bad taking a break. I'll still be moving forward  and it will be at a very slow pace. I need my mind and my feelings back. Amen <3
