The Dead End

  • I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalms 32:8 NIV

Recently when the Lord was ready to start something new in our life, He started closing out the old. Of course we panicked, tried giving more, pray more, fast more, serve more, but nothing helped. So we decided we would do this, but this turned out to be a dead end. Then we decided we would do that, but that went nowhere either.

It seemed that each time that we were about to give up, something would appear to give us a little hope, but would turn out to be a dead end. In time, the Lord opened the door that we were supposed to go through and it turned out great. All the worry, struggling and despair was for nothing. God had a plan that we could not see and He had to close down part one before He could begin part two.

The next time that you are looking at one dead end after another, know that God is bringing something new to your life, and it is going to be good. The chaos that is going on in your mind will be for nothing. It is just a transition to something new and better, and the dead end is part of the process.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me see past the dead end and know that You are working behind the scenes. I know that the plans that You have for me are good and the right door will open, in the name of Jesus I pray.

Note: Blessed Wednesday :)! There is a new group called "Ladies in Distress"! It is a private group for women''s fellowship. All of you RHM ladies are welcome to join, and membership requests will be personally approved to ensure your privacy :).

David and Dianna Wyles
David and Dianna Wylesedited: May 25, 2016 Amen! Thank you! I probably need to hear this over and over again! As I face the future with no more unemployment available for the next 5 months, I am grateful for the experiences I have had over the last 6 months but so ready for steady income. My interview yesterday went well I think.... I did my best, God's got the rest! I should find out in a week or so how I really did. As I stand on this threshold of transition and ask how much longer I must be patient to reap the benefits of faith I am reminded of how blessed I have been over this lean and transitionary time in our lives. Yes old doors have been closing left and right, and yet here we are six months into waiting on God's timing and I might be late on rent but I have a home still, I might not have much but I have, I haven't found a steady nine to five sort of job but I have found a larger measure of peace, more creative flow, awakened dreams and inspirations, motivation and strong desire to create beauty and wonder for God's glory. a door of opportunity to publish my creation, a since of tranquility at times like no other time in my life.   I have to ask myself ... is God closing these doors to usher me into a writing career? Dare to think! I am a humble old women and the thought of being known as an author is a strange one that's growing on me only because it seems like while I have been given other small glimpses of hope nothing else has been working out. It's like God sees deep inside me where those lost dreams have been burried and are drawing them out for me to notice again. Yes when I was a child I  think I dreamed of being a writer and even a photographer. Over the last two or three years I have been guided to actively seek out those passions as forms of release and therapy if you will. Bad Day? Get my camera and take a walk in search of God's blessings! Helps every time! I want to have stable income again but I have seen so many blessings that I have been given through this journey and God is providing all the way, that I can't be ungrateful! I would love to work for Panda Express and do hope I get that chance but if God doesn't open this door he will open another... and maybe he already has but my fears wont accept that I just need to take that step through the threshhold of that door God has opened and have faith that it's where he wants me to be. Is it wrong to want to step through that door AND have a more stable form of income? Is that me saying I have faith but only if there is a safety net? In publishing you make money only if people buy what you publish, in a job for hire you earn money for services rendered...is that me not having faith in the gifts God has given me? I so need clarity and maybe I have gotten it and am too afraid to hear it?  Heavenly Father Thank you for all you do! Thank you for loving through it all! Thank you for your comfort in my weaknesses,  I want faith the size of a mustard seed! Will you help me step away from the fear that Satan is throwing at me and step into your love and assurance that you will not let me fall? Gift me with lasting peace and faith that you will always have my back and make a way when there seems like no way. If Panada Express is your will please open it wide and if not please close it tight!  Thank you Pastor for letting me ramble on and for being God's hands and feet :) Pastor's Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me see past the dead end and know that You are working behind the scenes. I know that the plans that You have for me are good and the right door will open, in the name of Jesus I pray.
