Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth your hand now, and touch all t...

You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith. In the same way, wasn't Rahab the prostitute also justified by works, in that she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead. James...

However you are just in all that is come on us; for you have dealt truly, but we have done wickedly; neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept your law, nor listened to your commandments and your testimonies with which you did testify against them. For they have not ser...

The Weed Eater

  • Out of the same mouth comes blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water? Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water. James 3:10 WEB

Hot and tired, I pulled the starting rope on the weed eater for the fortieth time. Once again it sputtered, ran a second, and died. After being primed, choked and pulled unto and I had blisters that had already busted, the stubborn little torture device still refused to run for more than a second at a time.

As Esau with Jacob, I comforted myself with the thought of destroying it. Thoughts ran through my mind of bending it around a nearby tree. Though completely frustrated, I felt a tiny inkling to pray. I finally paused and simply said:

'Lord Jesus, please help me with this.'

With a deep breath, I pulled the start cord one more time. It started and ran perfectly. I finished cutting the grass without any more problems, wishing that I had prayed sooner. The help that we need is just a prayer away.

Be sure to involve God in your life today on every level. He cares about the little things that upset us. I have found that if it matters to you, it matters to Him. That does not mean that you will never have to endure something, but it does mean that you do not have to endure everything that comes your way, if you just take the time to ask. He helped me start the weed eater when I stopped and asked Him, but not before.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for being there for me. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I choose to put my trust in You. Remind me to call on You instead of becoming frustrated, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Mark Duell
Mark Duell Amen. I am calling upon the Lord all the time for things like that. As far as the weed eater goes, He told me to go buy a cordless one. Man what a frustration saver. It's so nice not having to do battle with the old one. Thanks again for the devotional.

David and Dianna Wyles
David and Dianna Wyles YES! Amen! It's important to ask... I am asking for favor today and God's will all the way through my interview with Panda Express. I need God's Peace and calm, I need self confidence, I need this open door but only if it's God who opens it! We've been provided for this whole time and I know God will continue to do so. I only want God's will in this matter. I am happy and blessed either way this "in person" interview goes. If it is his will I would love stable income again, however we have not been without so we are blessed! Thank you Pastor for always lighting the way to our Heavenly Father's abode! Pastor's Prayer: Father, I thank You for being there for me. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I choose to put my trust in You. Remind me to call on You instead of becoming frustrated, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Twila Stierwalt
Twila Stierwalt AMEN! I know when I have got real frustrated and stoped to pray sometimes God answers my prayer and some times he doesn't. But He always teaches me something. The main thing is to turn it over to Him, He will bring something beautiful out of the cituation. I know nothing goes to waste with God, so why not talk to Him about things, you never know He just might answer your request.

Joann Williams-Dixon
Joann Williams-Dixon With great anticipation I wait each day to read the message of Pastor Dion!  What precious words he offers, what wise counsel, what uplifting thoughts/directions!  My one won is an Asst. Pastor of a large Philadelphia church, is worship leader, the Director of music, himself a gifted guitarist, his wife and he sing together, and a teacher in the church high school.  My other son works in a corporate office setting and is the musician for a UMChurch in Doylestown, PA.  I regularly forward Pastor Dion's messages to them, have put both on them on RHM prayer requests (they are always so relieved to know this), and they always appreciate the work and words of RHMinistries.  GOD BLESS PASTOR DION TODD AND SYLVIA FOR THEIR UNENDING, POWERFUL, SACRIFICIAL AND SPIRIT FILLED WORDS THEY FREELY SHARE WITH US.  IN JESUS NAME I PRAY, AMEN.

MP (Mary Pat) Taylor
MP (Mary Pat) Taylor Again, what a timely message Pastor Dion!  I have the day off to get my truck fixed today. It's been losing power when parked, so I needed to use the charger to get it running today and take it in for what will hopefully finally fix the issue.  The lever to pop the hood on ym vehicle hasn't work for years.  It's always a challenge for me to get the hood open. I prayed and I still couldn't get it open, but something told me to put my hands on the hood itself and pray.  I asked the Lord, as the One who created all the natural laws by which machinery and all things function, to go inside this hood and touch it and open it for me. I said I trusted Him, as He has kept this vechicle running for me as He knows I cannot affor to get another one.  I pressed down on the front of it and it popped open enough for me to reach the latch and open it!  It has never popped open for me like that...ever.  Praise God!  I praised Him and told Him I was going inside to share this testamony. Now it is charging and I'll be praying that this time it is truly fixed!    Can't thank God enough, and thank you for Pastor Dion for your timely message reminding me to pray before I got frustrated. :D

Wesley Paulus
Wesley Paulus A couple of weeks ago I was taking the trash to the trash chute in our building, and I had my keys in my hand when I dropped the trash bag down the trash chute my keys went down the chute also. Needless to say I was in a hurry to get somewhere. Before I went to see if I could even get in the area where the trash chute emptied into the big trashcans,  I said a really quick prayer asking God to help me find my keys quickly because I had to be somewhere . Sure enough I got down to the area and the door was unlocked, and as soon as I opened the door, right on top of the trash bag I just sent down the chute, there were my keys. Thank you Jesus for caring about  the small things!!!
