One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him. 'Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?' Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is...

Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 'How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, that murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me. Tell them, As I live, says Yahweh, surely as you have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you' N...

Hard Times

  • You therefore put your belt on your waist, arise, and say to them all that I command you. Don't be dismayed at them, lest I dismay you before them. For, behold, I have made you today a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls, against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land. They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you', says Yahweh, 'to rescue you.' Jeremiah 1:17 WEB

Jeremiah was called the weeping prophet because the Lord gave him a very difficult mission: to warn His people that their wicked ways would eventually bring their destruction. Almost everyone was against him and he spent a lot of time in pits and jail. Even the other prophets in the city disagreed with him.

Jeremiah represented the Lord while everyone else was against him, and he did not want the job. When he prophesied the people did not cheer, they wanted to kill him. Yet he did prophesy for over forty years because the Lord was with him.

That was Jeremiah's job. A prophet hears the word of God, and tells them to the people. They face the people, with the Lord behind them. A priest is the opposite and takes the needs of the people to God. The priest stands with the people behind him, facing the Lord.

Sometimes you can try your best to serve God and it can feel like it is just you against the entire world, especially in the workplace. The more that you do right, the more that seems to go wrong. You may begin to wonder if you are on the right side at all.

I once went through a personal revival, set out on a two week fast and listened to the Bible twenty four hours a day. At the end of the two weeks, I was laid off, completely unexpected. It worked out fine in the long run, but with a new house payment, it was not a pleasant experience. But that was the path that led me to owning my own computer business, which prepared me for the ministry that we do, and our online church.

If you are you facing a battle today, I have good news: You don't have to face this alone. Even if you dug this pit yourself, the Lord is more than willing to help you climb out of it, if you sincerely ask Him. He is with you: to save you, to deliver you, and to spare you today. You will still be standing when those who wish you were gone, are gone.

Prayer: Father, I thank You so much for being there for me. I look to You to take care of me today. You can see the big picture of time, where I can only see the past. Please lead me and help me make the right decisions in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

David and Dianna Wyles
David and Dianna Wyles Amen! Six months ago I was in a dark and devistating place as I walked away from a 17 year job to find God's peace again. While I was deep in dispair and depression, I also knew without a doubt that God was leading me away from a hostile invironment and into his healing, peace, and will. I have never felt alone through this journey although at times I've heard his silence. Over this last six months I have seen God's love and provisions reigning strong and can only be thankful. I have felt our Heavenly Father guiding me to his will like no other season in my life. Yesterday I was able to submit a children's book for review with a self-publishing company that our wonderful Pastor, his lovely wife and a few other incredibly encouraging memebers here at RHM had suggested to me. The feeling of accomplishment and sheer joy knowing I let God guide me to this place is ... well overwhelming right now. So many emotions ... greatful and happy emotions but also a bit of anxiety( That's just me>> I have an anxiety issue slighty)  AS I sit and ponder why I would be listening to Satan's lies (anxiety) and not focus on all the good that has happened through this season I am baffled. This devotion was just the reminder that I needed! God is always with us and I just need to keep that focus. He is the blessing maker and Satan is the blessing taker. Today I fully choose to focus on the still quiet voice of the blessing maker! Today I stand strong on the promises of a hope and a future in Christ. Today I surrender my all to the one that gave us all. I can only hope my little children's book can somehow show God's beauty and wonder to a world that has yet to meet our awesome creator, and touch the hearts of those who already call him Father.  Thank you so much for all you do for God's kingdom Pastor Dion and Sylvia, without your encouragement this would all still be just  far off dream and not the reality that is.   Pastor's Prayer: Father, I thank You so much for being there for me. I look to You to take care of me today. You can see the big picture of time, where I can only see the past. Please lead me and help me make the right decisions in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

I love how you say "you hope your little book will show Gods beauty and wonder to a world that has yet to meet our awesome creator and touch the hearts of those who already call him Father". I pray this book will open new doors for you and bring you peace and blessings. God is with you always.

Carol Pady
Carol Pady Amen! Pastor Dion I have hit rock bottom many times in my 62 yrs of living. Even when I was tearfully praying and fasting and oh how long I had to endure . The enemy kept coming at me trying to fill with dispair, trying to tell me God didn't care, that He was not listening. I just cried out to God all the more and I stood on faith , that He was listening, that He did care and that He was working all things our for good. Even when my children doubted and said discouraging things I clung to Jesus and I clung to faith. God came through every time!!! He answered my prayers abundantly!!! His love never fails!!! He also gave me the gift of witnessing to my doubting thomas children, " as I said I told you so, I told you God was going to answer my prayers for you!"

Jeanie Fleming
Jeanie Fleming "You will still be standing when those who wish you were gone, are gone."  AMEN and AMEN again.  Abba certainly sees to this.  I have learned through experience that when others are out to get you the payback is amazing.  Some fellow employees tried to get me fired from a job and boy did it come back to bite them in the duff.  I didn't find out about it for several years, but they all got fired and I just smiled to myself when I was told, because I knew it would happen.  I have never had to get even with anyone.  God has always taken care of it for me.
