Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers; But his delight is in Yahweh's law; On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That brings forth its fruit in its se...

When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean." Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8...

Darkest Before the Dawn

  • And while he was still speaking with them, the messenger came down to him and said, This trouble is from the LORD! Why should I wait for the LORD any longer? But Elisha said, Hear the word of the LORD: thus says the LORD, Tomorrow about this time' 2Kings 6:33 ESV

Joram was king when Samaria, the capital city of Israel, was besieged by Syria about 850 BC. Samaria was surrounded and a great famine spread through out the city. People were literally eating each other. It was a very dark time for the people of Samaria and the king begin to blame God.

Finally, the king snapped and decided that if he could not kill God, he would kill the man of God, and set out to find Elisha. Elisha though, had a completely different view and told them that by the following day food would be so plentiful that it would cost pennies. What he said came to pass the following day.

Your breakthrough is waiting near your breaking point. When it looks like you cannot go on and it becomes dark, and you are ready to let God have it with both barrels, you are so close. Don't give up! It is always the darkest right before the dawn.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I ask that you strengthen me and guide me through this time. Lord, I cannot do this without You! Send Your Comforter to me today, in the name of Jesus I pray.

Cheryl Hepler Blessings Leslie.  A Job description in some of what I hear in your experience you are in.  We have one about 4 months.  I feel bombarded,  weakness grows in me physically, my husband working & at home doing various things I use to do.  I know God knows.  Changes bring stress also.  One foot to the next foot is but all to do along with reading & praying followed by prayer.  Starting this coming Mon May 9 another journey is beginning that adds to what is now yet by no comparison in our marriage walk yet...my husband has a thin .35mm melanoma on his right leg that needs immediate attention.  For my husband this the first more than usual health issue.  He is happy bubbly personality and never misses a hello to anyone.  Saved at 14 yrs he is strong with the Lord I appreciate in my walk as an opposite in a body that has been thru numerous health issues that Praise God has seen me through.  We believe...I believe God is with & His hand is close.  May the Lord bless all of you Leslie as I pray for us also.  In Jesus Name Amen!

Richard Mondello Needed this. Overcome with missing my wife yesterday, last night like a dark cloud upon me. Not wannting to go on and feeling like what's the point again. Even had the stupid thought of wanting to check out of this life again to be with her even though God has taught me otherwise not to. I'm trying to move on and let the past be the past but sometimes it feels like an elephant named grief has just sat on me. Always praying for God's help and He does through encouraging words from you Pastor Dion and others here @ RHM. Need y'alls prayers again please, thanks.

Marisa Jackson
Marisa Jackson The Lord is always by our side, watching, guiding and waiting for us to ask for his help!  Lord there are times when life's difficulties can be so overwhelming, however, when I place my life and trust in you, I know that no matter what, you have my best interest at heart and that you will NEVER leave me nor FORSAKE me. The valley of darkness can be a very lonely place, I know this because there are times when I feel so alone, but you continue to carry me and I have the strength of Jesus to hold onto and knowing that he is with me, and that he gives me the confidence to hold on ever so tightly and to continue to pray for peace and tranquility. During these dark times. Amen!

Carol Pady Amen. Thank you Pastor Dion. This is so very very true. When all seems lost, keep your eyes on the Cross. When things are unclear, He is still here. When we almost lose hope and we cry and we mope. He hears all and He freely provides, to His children in which His spirit resides.

Cheryl Hepler I love your words as others in this devotion & many others.  I love hearing the "caring -sharing" which is a strength only found in a family of God, Our Lord Jesus Christ.  I knew this in my past in a church that is no more.  It is hard thing.  How I am not sure just some things I witnessed that happened as possible reasons it is no more.  This caring-sharing I am speaking about was the arms & hands with feet that carried me on a stretcher that got me through when so weak, battle weary from Satan's blows that then restored my life to the new life & plan He had ready for me.  A hospital with much medicine provided by our "Greatest Physician" of all!  Thank you, Lord for this church "a piece of your Heart"!
