RHM Devotional: The Chain of Command from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about the chain of command in the Kingdom of God. When we began RHM, I was blown away by some of the prayer requests that we received. Many people confused God with Santa Claus. I remember one in p...

David therefore departed there, and escaped to the cave of Adullam: and when his brothers and all his father's house heard it, they went down there to him. Everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented, gathered themselves to him; and he became captain...
  • Peter answered him and said, 'Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.' He said, 'Come!' Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, 'Lord, save ...

Peaceful Easy Feeling

  • Again, a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, 'My Father, if this cup can't pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done.' He came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. He left them again, went away, and prayed a third time, saying the same words. Matt 26:42 WEB

On the night that Jesus was betrayed, He was troubled in His spirit and went to the garden of Gethsemane to pray. He kept praying and went back three times, saying the same words again.

There is a time to pray in faith and stand on it, but here we see that Jesus Himself went back and prayed the same words again when He was troubled and sorrowful. He prayed until He had the peace in His spirit to face the trial that was coming.

I often pray while driving down the road or walking through a grocery store, but real peace comes to me when my face is on the carpet pouring my heart out to God. Pray hard, get real, get serious, and it can be life changing.

Submit your life to God's plan with 'My Father, Your will be done.' I have seen impossible situations change overnight through intense prayer, but you have got to be desperate. You have got to want it.

A seminary teacher of mine while in his 40s developed a serious type of stomach cancer that no one had survived. He grew deathly sick, but one night the church had a prayer meeting especially for him and had him brought there. The intercessors anointed him with oil and prayed intensely for him for over four hours. He went home and began to vomit up an awful black liquid. When the next morning came, he no longer had cancer. He is now in his 70s, and still teaching.

Today if you are facing something that will not leave you alone, and you are troubled, anxious and sorrowful, find a quiet place alone and spend time praying and sitting in the Lord's presence until the peace comes. If you are too weak, find others that will pray with you. When the peace comes, you can face anything.

Prayer: Father, lead me into all that You have for me and surround me with people that are willing to pray. Help me see the big picture through Your eyes and trust in You. Guide my decisions and protect me from deception, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Kath Paro
Kath Paro I find myself troubled now and then with doubts that my relationship is truly being repaired.  I pray with all my heart and soul, others pray for me also.  My doubts are relieved.  My problem is that the "cancer" is not cured and keeps coming back to me with doubts and fear. Thank you Dion, I will continue praying and asking others to pray with me til my "cancer" is cured.

Twila Stierwalt
Twila Stierwalt This devotion reminds me when our family prayed for the LORD to take my mother home with Him, when she was suffering so and dying. God knew what was best and she went to another DR. and he put her on antibotics and she started getting better and better. God gave her another 5 years, I was so blessed in those 5 years to be able to take care of both of my parents, in our home the last 9 mounts of their life. I had so much joy those 9 months. My mother was a peaceful person, and a very happy person. we laughted so much during that time. My father had elshimers, It was a very stressful time but such a blessing. They did not want to go to a nursing home and they didn't have to. They died 2 weeks apart. I am telling this because God knows and sees the full picture. We were praying with all our heart's for my mother to just go be with Her LORD, and He was not ready for that. God wanted to bless me and our family by having her for another 5 years. I would have missed all those blessings God wanted to give me. Praise God he does hnow what is best and the Holy Spirit takes our prayers to the Heavenly Father and interpets them for us. I can look back now and am so thankful that God did not answer out prayers we were praying at that time, Praise God He does know what is the best, I have learned that praying with all my heart, Gods will is so important, and to wait on my Heavenly father to answer in His timing.

Deleted Member Amen and Amen, what a beautiful testimony of your Mother and Father, God bless you for what you did for them, in taking care of them and having that special time together before they went home to be with Jesus. God always knows what we really need and He always answers us in His perfect timing. God amazes me everyday.

Carol Pady
Carol Pady Amen thank you for this reminder Pastor Dion! There is no such blessing as the peace that comes after fervently and tearfully praying. The deeper our emotional pain, the stronger our heartfelt cries the more abundantly Abba Father embraces us and gives us His peace. Then after He brings breakthrough and answers to our most fervent prayers! Whenever I pray with passion He never fails to passionatley embrace me!

Madalyn Myers
Madalyn Myers I always believe that prayer helps. I often refer to the book of Psalms when I pray. Sometimes I pray until I see a difference in a situation. It may take sometime before my prayer has been answered but I still pray. There has been days where I wanted to give up. But I feel that God has helped me through those rough days. I love God and he is my strength.
