Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers; But his delight is in Yahweh's law; On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That brings forth its fruit in its se...

When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean." Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8...

Heads or Tails

  • For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees? But if we hope for that which we don't see, we wait for it with patience. Rom 8:24 WEB

Oh, I don't want to face tomorrow. I have a bad, bad, feeling about this. On and on we go, into a spiral of self-pity and hopelessness. Fear, anxiety and depression begin to snowball and soon consume us. Eventually there is a complete lack of hope, and only bleak darkness is left.

Hope can be defined as expectation, trust and confidence. Knowing that something good is coming your way. Fear can be defined as anxious, apprehensive, alarmed, or dread. Knowing that something bad is coming your way.

They are polar opposites, and you cannot live in one realm while walking in the other. A strange thing is that neither of these are seen. Both are invisible, like the wind, and it really takes just as much faith and energy to believe one as the other. The difference is that one builds you up, and the other brings you down.

Do not waste your energy on fear, channel it into hope. Instead of speaking about what might happen, focus on what you want to happen, then act accordingly and wait patiently for it to come to pass. God hears our prayers. He is not deaf. We just have to learn to grow up a little and trust Him along the way. He has got this and when it is over and you are looking back, you will feel silly to have doubted Him. I know from experience. I have the t-shirt.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for today and I am looking forward in hope for what You are doing in my life. I know that You will see me through whatever I face and I look to You for my needs. My help comes from the Lord. I choose to trust in You today, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: Good morning and happy Sunday! We pray you all have a blessed and restful Sabbath. For those who have not seen, Pastor Dion is starting a Q&A area for question both technical and scriptural. Members can both ask questions and offer answers. We invite you all to take a look!

David and Dianna Wyles
David and Dianna Wyles Strangely, I can be at polar opposites at the same time... I know ALL the time I am blessed, even when I am in the middle of a raging storm of hormonal imbalances that leave me emotionally unstable. Though I can feel the doom and despair I know it's just all a lie from the great deciever and that the truth is I am really being held by our heavenly Father until I can feel his peace again and then I am still held by him. When I am drowning in despair I know it's because I have not focused on the truth but let myself listen to those lies... I also know it's time to GET UP> GET OUT> GRAB MY CAMERA>>and go find some peace in God's great outdoors! My husband knows me well and knows when to get me in the car and drive! He is awesome that way. We took a drive yesterday and felt very blessed by all the hearts in nature and the beautiful birds we captured on camera. I am winding down now and my hormone levels are almost completely back to normal so I can think with much more ration and less emotion again. YEA!  Thank you for this reminder of where to focus when fear and anxiety come breaking my door down instead of knocking... focus on God's truth!  Pastor's Prayer: Father, I thank You for today and I am looking forward in hope for what You are doing in my life. I know that You will see me through whatever I face and I look to You for my needs. My help comes from the Lord. I choose to trust in You today, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Rechab Vendero
Rechab Vendero Hi Everyone   Good Day.   I was struck by today's Gospel as I am currently in my self-pity and hopelessness due to my current crisis with personal debts that I am facing. I just do hope by the virtue of God's word will be able to guide me thorough this challenges to be able to survive it day by day, considering every morning when I woke up it seems that it is very heavy to face again life which preventing me in continuing my plan and my mission in life. This is maybe because I am currently in the feeling of anxiety and full of fear that I might get to prison one day because of my debts, But I do hope that one day I can able to survive this deepest depression that been with me day by day. Hope God will continue to provide me more strength and courage to face this all endeavours... To God be the glory into the highest. Regards Rechab

Janet Clary
Janet Clary Pastor Dion, this is what I need to hear today and in the days to come.  :)  Sometimes we allow fear to be our next breath and how painful it is, when that happens.  Many of us who have suffered from bad moments in our life, deal with so much fear of what we cannot see in the next moments, ahead!  I have to remind myself each day to "Let go and let God".  He will never harm us nor will He abandon us, no mater what the situation.   I am the worlds worse to get 'panicky' and have a anxiety attack.  It takes a few minutes sometimes to realize that the Lord is right there with us and all we have to do is ask for His blessings.  God loves us even when we feel our darkest hour is our doom. Pastor Dion, thanks so much for your words each day of hope and love!! You and our First Lady, Ms. Sylvia are true disciples of the Lord and we are so blessed to have you as our pastor.  Gods love and blessings be with you both today, Janet

Sylvia Schmidt
Sylvia Schmidt I don't necessarily believe that growing up a little will fix our hope. If there is fear of the unknown or future, it can be because that hope has been dashed many times to the point it makes it hard to have faith after. If we see how or hopes have been fulfilled, it is much raiser to have hope in the things we hope for in the future. I think the best thing we can do is work at giving it all up to God to decide what is best for us and even then it might be hard to do that too in the hardest of times. I also believe that acknowledging and giving  ourselves permission to feel how we feel about our fears goes a long way for our fears to not take over our minds too. When we avoid how we feel we can be afraid to face things then. Just my 2 cents and experience on the subject.

Sylvia Schmidt
Sylvia Schmidt Pastor, I just wish to add that although I disagree on a point or two on your devo today, I do not wish to offend in any way. I feel a safe place for differing opinions has been created here and it is good. I think with a topic like fear, it can cause many of us to be in different points of our journey because of varying experiences in life and having different levels of supportive relationships that we have had. I only wish to acknowledge the good you have done in having a safe space to discuss things like this. Thank you.
