God heard the voice of the boy. The angel of God called to Hagar out of the sky, and said to her, 'What troubles you, Hagar? Don't be afraid. For God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. Get up, lift up the boy, and hold him with your hand. For I will make him a great nation.' God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went, filled the container with water, and gave the boy a drink. Gen. 21:19 WEB
Hagar wandered in the desert of Beersheba with her son, rejected, alone, despised, homeless, and now an outcast. Finally, she ran out of water and when all hope was gone, with her son about to die of thirst, she sat down and wept bitterly. God heard the boy crying and opened her eyes to see a well of water that was near her.
There was plenty of water near by, but Hagar could not see it. Their cry caused God to open her eyes and to be able to see what was around her. We can have 20/20 vision and still be blind (Rev 3:17). God is our ultimate source, not what we are able to see or obtain with our own eyes and strength.
God will hear your cry too, and there may be a well of water right beside you as you walk through your own personal desert. Sometimes He can make a little go a long way. Cry out to the Lord and put your trust in Him, for it is He that causes the blind to see.
Prayer: Father, please open my eyes to see the resources around me. Help me put what You have already given me to the best use. Help me make the right decisions and give me wisdom in life management, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
