As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:10 NIV
The Lord spoke to me when I was about twenty years old and told me that I would one day be in the ministry and to prepare myself. I was very excited and entered seminary while continuing to work a day job. I graduated, and continued to work various day jobs for the next 20 years ending up in computers, programming, and technical stuff, all while waiting.
When I had given up and pretty much forgotten what the Lord had told me, I was suddenly pushed into the ministry just like cattle being herded down a chute. It required no more effort than putting one foot in front of the other, but a lot of endurance. Now I use the skills that I learned in my past for the Lord. Even though I had graduated Bible college, I was not done with my schooling.
What the Lord has told you will come to pass, and you can build your life on it. The things that you are doing today are preparing you to be used tomorrow.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I know that You have a plan for my life. Please reveal it to me in a way that I understand. Help me get in tune with You and give me a clear vision, in the name of Jesus I pray.
Note: For those who have not seen the March monthly newsletter, Pastor Dion posted it last week! You can find it under the "News" link on the site menu! Group news: The highlighted group of the week is the Haven of Hope, a private group that is a refuge and place of support for those who have suffered under abuse. All requests to join are manually approved by the group leader before being able to see the group posts, so thank you for your patience. ALSO the Creation Photographers theme of the week is "Signs of Spring". Did you know that our Father sends us signs daily or that more than 20 bible verses contain the word spring? Just some things to ponder as you go out and capture what spring is to you (as always, you can post other pics, too!).
