Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers; But his delight is in Yahweh's law; On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That brings forth its fruit in its se...

When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean." Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8...

Word Mastery

  • Set a watch, Yahweh, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips. Psalms 141:3 WEB

David prayed that the Lord would set a guard over his mouth, to keep him from saying things that he should not. James said 'If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well' (Jas. 3:3). If you can control your tongue, then you can control the rest of your body, and he warned us that blessing and cursing should not flow out of the same source.

In the Old Testament (Num. 14:28) the Lord said 'what I have heard you say, I will do to you.' In the New Testament (Mat. 12:36) Jesus said 'I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.'

So we have an unchanging pattern throughout time that what comes out of your mouth, directly affects your life and your circumstances. It was covered in the Old Testament, and in the New Testament.

A mentor of mine used to say, "Words unspoken, you are their master. Words once spoken, you become their slave.'

Do not speak bad things over your life or those around you. Say good things about them, or say nothing at all. Stay positive in your speech. When you are speaking today, listen to the words that you are saying. Pray that God sets a guard over your mouth and makes you aware of your words.

Prayer: Father, I pray that You set a guard over my lips and let me hear what comes out of my mouth. Forgive me of the things that I have said wrong and cleanse my heart, for I know out of the abundance of my heart, my mouth speaks. Help me be a positive influence on those around me, in the name of Jesus Christ.

My other 2 readings with time allowing are the Daily Bread and Oswald Chambers!!! Both were as I say off the Chart-dynomite!! What I received was a wake up call About a Man Isiah making people change their ways!! My first thought, how did He di that! It doesn't say, but thats because I hadn't read the prior Scripts and with My memory issues don't recall Isaiah and His work!!  Funny My head condition has caused Me to have the close walk I do with the Lord I have!!! Not gettinhg into that-ant followers of Mine know Me! Certainly I need too work on MY home page!! So certinly delibrately letting My readings sinl in, and take hold, I'm a very Happy Camper this Morn!! As always I share with others My great Mornings start from where I left off last night!! Being a Vetyeran and certinly one in Life I know the next right thing too do!! Prayer! Too many its all about crying too the most high for stuff all that! I know My needs are being Met in His Time! Again last evening minimal thoughts-especially My postion-and straight too Praise! I go through My day realizing My Position and working on that! When retirering-its all Praise that He had My hand all day-Hey!!!                May He Bless all of you in Your walk with The Most High today!!!!  Brother Mike!!!   drums

Tammy Brown Every day I share your devotional to my mom's memorial facebook wall....  she would post them to facebook daily, and so many of her friends have requested that we keep that tradition going.   Today's words were so applicable to some of my children that I hope and pray they read and heed.  Thank you so much for your time!

Deleted Member Amen, words can truly help, but also can hurt, let us all listen to what Jesus would have us to say and not what we sometimes want to say, because once those words are out there, we can't take them back and sometimes, it takes wounds a long time to heal. I pray that Jesus would guard my mouth, close it when it needs closing and open it when I have good things to say that is full of love and compassion and care and kindness. Loved this message, thank you so much for it. God bless you.

Deanne Rascas
Deanne Rascas This is an area in my life that truly needs improvement! I can't seem to stop cursing when things all of a sudden go bad! I'm talking about just everyday irritations. I always ask the Holy Spirit to help me guard my mouth but have such difficulty. I can control myself around others, but when I'm alone the words come out before I have a chance to stop them. I don't like this about me! It says in Mat 12:36 that on judgement day our words will justify you or condemn you.If we are saved by the blood of Jesus, then how can we be condemned? I know I will not be sin free at this time but God will finish the work in us to perfection. I've always been a little confused by this passage. Can anyone help me to understand better?
