The Vineyard from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. I have always admired Amos, who was a shepherd in a field when the Lord told him to go and prophesy to King Jeroboam in Bethel. The priest Amaziah told him to prophesy somewhere else. They weren't interested in what the Lord had to say, but A...

Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? Keep the Fire Burning

  • As soon as Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. 2 Chronicles 7:1 ESV

When the Israelites built the tabernacle and altar under Moses' guidance, the fire of God started it (Lev 9:23). The priests were ordered to never let the flame go out (Lev 6:12). Later when they built the temple of Solomon, the fire of God lit that fire too, and the priests were ordered to keep the fire burning continously.

God starts the fire inside of each of us when we first come to Him, but we are to keep the fire burning. You can take an ember out of a roaring fire and set it on the mantle by itself and alone it will soon grow cold. Place it back into the fireplace with the others and it will glow hot again.

Prayer, worship, daily study and being around others that have the fire will all help keep your inner fire burning. God started it, but we have to keep the fire burning. Don’t stop. Don’t give up. No one said that it would be easy. You can do this and with God’s help you will make it through.
