Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn't repent. 'Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. Bu...

The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn't dwell in temples made with hands, neither is he served by men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath, and all things. Acts 17:24 WEBWhen I was growing up, we us...

RHM Devotional: Heroes and Monsters from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about the potential of being a Hero, or a Monster, that exists inside each one of us. We get to choose. Once when Jesus was preaching from a boat, He told a parable about a man that sowed wheat in H...

The Box of Parts

  • The heavens are the heavens of Yahweh; But the earth has he given to the children of men. Psalms 115:16 WEB

I watched my son wrestle with connecting the wiring harness to the motherboard. I could have done it for him, but he needed to learn this himself that only fit one way. He had wanted a gaming computer for his sixth Christmas, so being a computer tech, I bought him something much better. All the parts of a computer were in a big box. I let him assemble it himself and install everything from scratch.

I supervised while he built it, and gave him pointers to help him avoid major mistakes, like keeping himself grounded to avoid ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and frying the parts. Then I helped him when he got stumped, needed help, or when he asked me to. When it was complete, he had much more than a computer, he had confidence and experience that his peers did not have.

Heaven is God's home, but the earth, God has given to the children of man. He watches us from above as we would watch our children put together a lego set or model car. He is there, and perfectly able to help us, and could do it better than us, but He will not step in uninvited. He provides what we need, guides us, and will help us when we ask Him to. He wants us to grow in faith and the confidence that He has got our back, to know that we are not alone here.

Would you take away your child's model car and assemble it yourself? Would you do it all for them? Would not that not rob the experience from them? When you do need help, PRAY. It is our way of getting help when we need it, but do not expect a lot of help that you did not ask for.

Prayer: Father, I thank You today for all that You have given me. I choose to believe that You are there for me when I need You most. Guide me this day and help me put all of this together correctly, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

David and Dianna Wyles Amen! The hardest part of being a parent is watching your child struggle with something, yet it's through some of those struggles that we are able to grow. Thank you Pastor for another wonderful lesson :) Blessings   Pastor's Prayer: Father, I thank You today for all that You have given me. Carol Pady
Carol Pady Amen! I asked for Him to speak to me in my dreams again. So last night He spoke all night long, He said Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees. All night long that verse kept repeating itself. When I woke up I instantly forgot what the verse was. So I prayed He would let me remember. Than after reading through my email devotions, bam, there it was 'beware of the yeast of the pharisees" Now I am researching the verse and trying to get a clear understanding of what he was telling me. I have found a lot of deep discussions on this and a few different interpretations, but nothing clear as of yet as to what he was revealing to me. So now I will wait on the Lord to give me the revelation.  I do love it when he speaks to me and it leads me to more study of His word to try to fit the peices together.

Mark Duell
Mark Duell Amen. As we all know we sometimes go into projects without asking for the Lords help and trying to do it on our our own. As I get older I find that it's a whole lot easier asking the Lord for knowledge and wisdom before hand on something than struggling with something for hours and then asking Him to bail you out. Thank you Lord for your understanding.
