The Vineyard from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. I have always admired Amos, who was a shepherd in a field when the Lord told him to go and prophesy to King Jeroboam in Bethel. The priest Amaziah told him to prophesy somewhere else. They weren't interested in what the Lord had to say, but A...

for a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again, but the wicked are overthrown by calamity. Proverbs 24:16 WEB.Once again, I was the one who promised he would never do it again, then went and did it again. I had slowly drifted away one more time. I have found that it's easy to make promises...

Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth your hand now, and touch all t...

Great Adventures

  • Yahweh said to Aaron, 'Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.' He went, and met him on God's mountain, and kissed him. Moses told Aaron all the words of Yahweh with which he had sent him, and all the signs with which he had charged him. Exodus 4:27 WEB

The Lord spoke to Aaron and told him to go meet his brother Moses in the wilderness. We do not really know what Aaron was doing when the Lord first spoke to him. I am sure that he had plans for the afternoon like we all do. He may have been at home or out gathering straw to make bricks. After all, he was a slave in Egypt.

Aaron had not seen Moses in a long time. Though Moses had been raised in Egypt, he had to leave after killing a slave driver, and afterwards he lived in exile, while Aaron and their sister Miriam had remained in Egypt. Forty years passed by.

Then the day came when the Lord told Aaron to go meet his little brother, and when he did, a life changing adventure began for all of them. Aaron could not have known what was coming, how he would become an important part of changing the known world, and witness miracle after miracle. It all started by hearing the voice. Jesus said 'My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me' (John 10:27).

Everything starts with a first step. God prompts you to do something, a door opens, and you take that step. When you obey, another door will open and you take another step. The adventure will not begin until you take step one, and you will not see step two until you have completed the first one. If you feel God prompting you today to do something: take the step. If Aaron had not, he would have missed the greatest adventure of his life.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for all that You have done for me, and for bringing me this far. Please give me a clear vision of what You have for me, and show me where my time is best spent. Lead me into adventures for You, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Elana Phelps Don't give up Mary. God's timing is not like ours. Continue walking and living his word. Know that God is with you. Even when it seems like he is not. He promised never to leave us alone. He is a very present help in our times of need. Hebrews 4:16

Joseph Adams, Jr.
Joseph Adams, Jr. Don't give up Mary, I have been waiting since 1983, but I continue to prepare myself and try to stay in position. Certainly I have failed a lot, but at 64, I still have faith that God will continue to keep me and ise me behind the scenes until He is ready to push me out front. Stay faithful!

K K My friend and a brother in Christ has been feeling discouraged about work, was going to go to a movie Thursday but instead he wrote that he just went into prayer, praise and worship. Not long after he started prayer he got a phone call from a client asking him to fly from San Diego where he lives to Seattle the next morning (yesterday) for an emergency meeting on a large construction deal they'd been working on as it was about to fall through and a meeting had been called for Friday.  He flew up, saved the project and will finally see long needed financial blessings for it. He said " how differently would this had turned out if I gave into my despair, went to a movie to be distracted and didn't get that phone call when I decided to stay home and pray and worship instead".  God is awesome and everything in His time! Amen!

Janet Marsh-Lord
Janet Marsh-Lord I need to listen closely to the prompting from God and step out in faith. Sometimes we don't hear Him clearly and go and do our own thing. Help me to hear you Lord and give me a clear vision, so I can take that first step in my adventure with you.

Cheryl Hepler
Cheryl Hepler Love the story!  Forgot Aaron was a slave.  Hearing God's voice is for different things or reasons.  Protection, direction, call someone, when I loose something and for the Word it is a special verse God prompts I should read.  A knowing ever since very little girl I realized He was there.
