Battlefield Tactics

  • It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they turned about to fight against him: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and Yahweh helped him; and God moved them to depart from him. It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him. 2 Chronicles 18:31 WEB

Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah went into battle and soon got into trouble when a whole group of chariot commanders began to chase him, thinking that he was someone else. When he cried out, the Lord helped him and drew the enemy away from him.

If Jehoshaphat had not cried out to God, it is hard to say what would have happened. It is quite possible that he would have died on the battlefield. When the enemy turned to attack him, that was all the encouragement that he needed to ask God for help. It does not record what he said but it probably included: 'God help me!'

Sometimes we view asking for prayer as a weakness and we put it off as long as possible. We quietly hide what is going on in our life, often because of pride. Jehoshaphat left his pride on the battlefield when he saw real trouble coming his way. His battlefield tactics were to cry out to God in prayer.

We are all in a battle, and our real strength and protection is not our own, but comes from God Almighty. Do not wait until you are beaten down and weak to start asking God for help. When the attack begins, call for backup immediately.

Prayer: Father I thank You for hearing my cry for help. Protect me and my family today Lord, draw our hearts closer to You and fulfill Your perfect will in our life, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Samantha Greer
Samantha Greer We must remember our battles are not against flesh and blood but powers and principalities. Remind Satan of his future each time he approaches with a new issue. The battle is already won. Thank you God for being my provider, my peace and my joy. Amen

Deleted Member Amen, Samantha, isn't it awesome that we really don't have anything to worry about, because we have read the back of The Book, The Word of God, The Bible and satan looses everything and God totally wins the battle and if we will stay close to Him and let Him be our Savior, then we too, have already won. The battle is The Lord's and He surely will take care of us, if we put our faith and trust in Him and give our heart, soul, mind and body to do and be in His Perfect Will. We serve an amazing God and He will never fail us.

Deleted Member God will show up right on time, even in the quietness, He is there, we may not always understand and we feel like things must happen right now, but always know that there is not one storm that comes your way that Jesus cannot calm, He will calm the storms of our life, if we put our faith and trust in Him and sometimes it seems we have to wait, but He wiill always be right on time. Wait, Hold on to Jesus tighter than ever, trust Hm with all your heart and watch the troubling storms be calmed. God bless you. Love and prayers and blessings.

Deleted Member Amen and Amen. Isn't it wonderful to know that we can talk to Jesus anytime we want to, because He is always there with His love for us, to hear our prayers, our cries, our worries, our praises or whatever we have to say, He is always there to listen and bring us through anything. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

Carol Pady
Carol Pady Amen! I have been praying that His Holy Spirit in me prays unceasingly while I sleep . I have never slept better.  I never remember the prayers in my dreams, but I do remember praying throughout them. I ask for the Holy Spirit to pray even for things I am unaware of. Then I wake up refreshed and in a peaceful mood,  ready for the new day.  He has given me the sense of a restless Spirit at times, so I have began to pray for unceasing prayers everynight. I feel this is a season of heightened spiritual warfare.  Many of my Christian friends are experiencing this right now. We are putting on the armor of God and praying fervently.  I know the great and awesome power of prayer! We will not be shaken, we will be strengthened! We will be victorious ! No weapon formed against us will prosper!

God bless you. Love and Hugs and prayers, Carol.

To many have no clue thwe Power of a very Loving God! So many thinks His a joke!! Ah thats where Disciples come in!! We gently tactfully (for Me) by example proof that He is very real and does indeed intervien, answer Prayer!! Its great to be victorious.. Lil key we most for get where that help came from and for Us too nottake the credit! Humble Thy Self in the Name of the Lord and He will lift you Up[!!!!!!!!!

Cheryl Hepler
Cheryl Hepler Yes, I cried out the other day for prayer, for prayer is weapons & trust & believe in God.  I am still dealing in my mind with depression.  Between my husband & I he feels it is about him.  I try to tell him I am not in a good place.  Then I try to talk about it.  I say I hear you yet as you hear me it is not about you it is my stuff & I own it.  Just could ha be slept much for for this within me to pass.  Black & yucky.  Want to beat me up.  So many things come to deal with in general stuff yet I still trek on in mud.  I do what doc says yet it is what it is.  Hard.  Want to cry but a part of me says why.  I know God is there..I start in thinking that I am not right with Him.  That's a lie but with two feet on this earth it is true that I say ...it is what I feel.  Knowing feelings are not true.  Only His Word.  Help...I just hurt.,..Life isn't eat drink & be merry!  It sucks sometimes plainly.  I have been overwhelmed with many things and am trying to take each thing & to get them all straight.  When physical pain arises in all this I..it..bursts.
