When they came to Marah, they couldn't drink from the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah. The people murmured against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?" Then he cried to Yahweh. Yahweh showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were ...
  • Intentional Growth 2 (Prayer) from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. The Sermon on the Mount that Jesus gave is a goldmine of information. It is like the beating heart of my Bible. It spans 3 chapters, Matthew 5 through 7. I created a playlist of it and put it on repeat to listen to it all day...

The Weed Eater

  • From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. James 3:10 ESV

Hot and tired, I pulled the starting rope on the weed eater for the fortieth time. Once again it sputtered, ran a second and died. After being primed, choked and pulled unto I had blisters, the stubborn little torture device still refused to run for more than a second.

As Esau with Jacob, I comforted myself with the thought of killing it. Thoughts ran through my mind of bending it around a nearby tree. Though completely frustrated, I felt a tiny inkling to pray. I paused and simply said: Lord Jesus, help me with this. Then I pulled one more and it started and ran perfectly, allowing me to finish cutting the grass.

Be sure to involve God in your life today on every level. Does He care about the little things that upset us? Absolutely. If it matters to you, it matters to Him. That does not mean that you will never have to endure something, but it does mean that you do not have to endure everything that comes your way if you take the time to ask. He will help you start the weed eater.
