The Vineyard from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. I have always admired Amos, who was a shepherd in a field when the Lord told him to go and prophesy to King Jeroboam in Bethel. The priest Amaziah told him to prophesy somewhere else. They weren't interested in what the Lord had to say, but A...

Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth your hand now, and touch all t...

Entrapment

  • I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, 'Now is come the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. Revelation 12:10 WEB

In a United States supreme court case in 1932, Sorrells v. United States, a prohibition officer repeatedly tried to get a factory worker to buy him whiskey. When the man finally gave in and did, the officer arrested him for selling him whiskey.

This was labeled 'entrapment,' which is when the government persuades you to break a law that they created, and then tries to prosecute you for doing what they wanted you to do.

Our enemy will place a bad thought in your mind and then immediately accuse you of wrongdoing, 'Look at you! And you call yourself a Christian.' Even though it was not your thought to begin with, he will try his best to make you believe that it was yours, and then make you feel guilty over it.

This is nothing but a crowd control tactic. If he can make you walk around all day with your head hanging down, feeling unworthy to even pray because of your bad thoughts, then he has successfully neutralized you. When you are too ashamed to speak to God, you are powerless. If something will not leave your mind, then take it God in prayer and take away satan's ammunition.

'Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need' (Hebrews 4:16).

Do not fall into entrapment. God is above all of this, He knows who is to blame, and his day is coming. Push these thoughts aside, hold your head up, stand up straight and walk as a child of God each day. I am loved, forgiven, redeemed, and the Lord is my Shepherd.

Prayer: Father, I pray that You help me put on the helmet of salvation to guard my mind from attacks, help me renew my thought life and take on the mind of Christ. You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. With Your help, I will overcome, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: Happy Sunday! We pray you all have a blessed and restful Sabbath! Just wanted to let you all know that the "Count Your Blessings" group is hosting a new event called "Thankful November". You are all invited to join and post something you are thankful for each day until Thanksgiving, and of course, beyond if you wish :)! You should see the event on the home page, but if not, it will be on the Events link on the site menu.

I have better days but when I do fall into despair and depression, that's me! Today I am on the positive side of life, thank God, my family, friends, and RHM for all the prayers, patience, love and suport given while I was believing the enemy! It's easy to get caught up in, when you are going through a struggle, the doubt and fear thrown at you from satan! Even though I was holding tight to Gods' promises, I still had to fight my way back to the positive mind set I need to have daily to survive in a broken and dark world, to shine my light for someone else to see hope. Thank you Pastor Dion, for our Fathers lesson today :) Blessings

Twila Stierwalt
Twila Stierwalt Amen! I have over come, by the precious blood of Jesus Christ my LORD. I am who God says I am, and I believe that God is who He says He is, and that He can do what He says He can do, and I can do what God says I can do. Ephiasians chapter 1. tells me who I am in Christ, One of my favorite passages. I am going to meditate on this scripture today. I love that God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-control. I pray that I will not get my eyes off of Jesus, and put them on worldly things.

Kathy Banfield
Kathy Banfield According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Satan's power is not infinite. He is only a creature; poweful from the fact that he is a pure spirit, but still a mere creature. Jesus was sent to overthrow Satan's power, and this was acomplished at His death and resurrection. That's all we need to remember whenever that sneaky devil tries to entrap us.Personal  experience has convinced me that Satan isn't very smart, either!

Carol Pady
Carol Pady Amen! I  recently read a post about taking every thought captive. It is necessary to ask the Holy Spirit to control our thoughts and help us to think only on good things. He will help us discern what thoughts are not from Him. He will teach us to rise above these tactics of the evil one a d walk in His ways.

Joan Joseph
Joan Joseph Jesus said: "Come to me all who are heavy laden and I will give you rest" (Matt 11:28). Only Jesus can give us peace like no other. Yes, we must be strong and do not give the devil a foothold but stay focus on Jesus praying without ceasing always giving thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus (1 Thes 5:16-18). Victory, victory shall be mine, Amen. Great message Pastor Todd, thank you.

Karen Pasquinelli
Karen Pasquinelli Lucifer is coniving and sure knows how to make you feel guilty, however, when I can tell him to flee that I have confessed and God forgives me because I am sincere in my confession to him, he runs from me very fast.  I keep my thoughts on God and by doing that the devil is afraid to approach me.  At least that is my experience.

Tyler Velau
Tyler Velau You don't want to hold your head up too high or you risk not being able to see what's right in front of you. Like with many things in life, a proper balance would be beneficial to observe. And still, we must be humble and remember that we're all the same, from the exceedingly rich to the downtrodden and struggling. No one of is is superior to the other. Humility, kindness, respect and courtesy are things that should be more of in our society. Peace and blessings to you.
