I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, 'Now is come the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. Revelation 12:10 WEB
In a United States supreme court case in 1932, Sorrells v. United States, a prohibition officer repeatedly tried to get a factory worker to buy him whiskey. When the man finally gave in and did, the officer arrested him for selling him whiskey.
This was labeled 'entrapment,' which is when the government persuades you to break a law that they created, and then tries to prosecute you for doing what they wanted you to do.
Our enemy will place a bad thought in your mind and then immediately accuse you of wrongdoing, 'Look at you! And you call yourself a Christian.' Even though it was not your thought to begin with, he will try his best to make you believe that it was yours, and then make you feel guilty over it.
This is nothing but a crowd control tactic. If he can make you walk around all day with your head hanging down, feeling unworthy to even pray because of your bad thoughts, then he has successfully neutralized you. When you are too ashamed to speak to God, you are powerless. If something will not leave your mind, then take it God in prayer and take away satan's ammunition.
'Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need' (Hebrews 4:16).
Do not fall into entrapment. God is above all of this, He knows who is to blame, and his day is coming. Push these thoughts aside, hold your head up, stand up straight and walk as a child of God each day. I am loved, forgiven, redeemed, and the Lord is my Shepherd.
Prayer: Father, I pray that You help me put on the helmet of salvation to guard my mind from attacks, help me renew my thought life and take on the mind of Christ. You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. With Your help, I will overcome, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
Note: Happy Sunday! We pray you all have a blessed and restful Sabbath! Just wanted to let you all know that the "Count Your Blessings" group is hosting a new event called "Thankful November". You are all invited to join and post something you are thankful for each day until Thanksgiving, and of course, beyond if you wish :)! You should see the event on the home page, but if not, it will be on the Events link on the site menu.
