Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they quickly brought him out of the pit. And when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came in before Pharaoh. Genesis 41:14 ESV
Joseph had been in prison for over two years, and had been sold as a slave by his brothers years before that. Now he was standing before the pharaoh of Egypt and being given his signet ring. Suddenly, he was the second-in-command of the most powerful nation on earth. Prison in the morning, Ruler of Egypt in the evening. His dream had seemed to take forever, but it had now arrived.
This day was part of God's plan for Joseph and had taken between thirteen to twenty years to come to pass. It was intricate in detail and there were many layers and characters involved in making this happen. Israel was saved during an intense famine. Joseph learned management skills. He was humbled and became a broken man that God could use. There was over a decade of Joseph feeling forgotten, but suddenly his dream came to pass.
God's plans are intricate, deep, and all the pieces have to line up. It may see like nothing is happening, but that can change in an instant. Keep on doing what you are supposed to do. Don't neglect your part of the plan and be sure to work with Him. God's plan for you may take time, but it will arrive right on schedule.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that You stir me, wake me, give me a fresh fire and cause me to live Your perfect plan for my life. Move the things that need to be moved and open the doors that need to be opened. In the name of Jesus I pray.
Note: Happy Friday! This week''s highlighted group is "Real Support for Military Families": This group is a place to receive and offer encouragement and prayer for members of the military and their families. We recognize that the families of those who serve in particular have daily burdens that often go unnoticed. If you would like to be part of this community, either as part of a military family, or just someone who would like to pray for them, please do join! You can find this group and any of the other groups on the 'Groups' link on the site menu.
