If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances, "Don't handle, nor taste, nor touch" (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men? These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imp...

She wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn. Walk on Water from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. An extraordinary event unfolds in Matthew chapter 14, one that is unparalleled elsewhere in the Bible: a common fisherman defying the laws of nature by walking on water. This miraculous feat wasn't performed by Jesus, but rather by Peter, a ...

Slow Train Coming

  • Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they quickly brought him out of the pit. And when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came in before Pharaoh. Genesis 41:14 ESV

Joseph had been in prison for over two years, and had been sold as a slave by his brothers years before that. Now he was standing before the pharaoh of Egypt and being given his signet ring. Suddenly, he was the second-in-command of the most powerful nation on earth. Prison in the morning, Ruler of Egypt in the evening. His dream had seemed to take forever, but it had now arrived.

This day was part of God's plan for Joseph and had taken between thirteen to twenty years to come to pass. It was intricate in detail and there were many layers and characters involved in making this happen. Israel was saved during an intense famine. Joseph learned management skills. He was humbled and became a broken man that God could use. There was over a decade of Joseph feeling forgotten, but suddenly his dream came to pass.

God's plans are intricate, deep, and all the pieces have to line up. It may see like nothing is happening, but that can change in an instant. Keep on doing what you are supposed to do. Don't neglect your part of the plan and be sure to work with Him. God's plan for you may take time, but it will arrive right on schedule.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that You stir me, wake me, give me a fresh fire and cause me to live Your perfect plan for my life. Move the things that need to be moved and open the doors that need to be opened. In the name of Jesus I pray.

Note: Happy Friday! This week''s highlighted group is "Real Support for Military Families": This group is a place to receive and offer encouragement and prayer for members of the military and their families. We recognize that the families of those who serve in particular have daily burdens that often go unnoticed. If you would like to be part of this community, either as part of a military family, or just someone who would like to pray for them, please do join! You can find this group and any of the other groups on the 'Groups' link on the site menu.

Dion Todd
Dion Todd Financial stress is very difficult, but as we discipline ourselves, prepare our fields for rain, God will help us out of it. When we began to handle our finances more intentionally, God began to bless us. We intentionally set aside a tithe for His work, then a giving fund for those in need (Alms), and then we pay our bills and obligations. Since we started this pattern, we have been richly blessed in so many ways. The math does not add up, but it always works out because money comes from unexpected places. Also we find that the Dave Ramsey course is the best christian finance course that I have ever came across. If you get the chance to take it, do so. I wish that I had 25 years ago. I pray that the Lord will guide you, teach you what you need to know, and provide for your every need in the name of Jesus Christ.

Diane Casey
Diane Casey Thank you for this devotional, i am inspired and encouraged. I said the prayer at the end for myself.  We (my church family) have been without a place of worship for almost a year. We attend another church together until God bless us with a place. So this word is encouraging knowing that God has a plan. May God continue to bless you and keep you!

Kelly Koralewski
Kelly Koralewski Bless you Pastor Dion and thank you Jesus for giving us Pastor Dion. Your messages are what I need every morning and I thank the Lord for you. I read about your struggles in life and how it was God's plan to bring you to where you are now. What a beautiful lesson for us readers! Although I can feel the pain in your words of your situation at the time, praise Jesus that you were an obiedient son and submitted to Him so that He could work out this wonderful plan for your life and to pass on these stories of inspiration to us readers so that we may also grow in the Lord too. Thank you for being a wonderful son and minister to our hearts!

Carol Pady
Carol Pady Amen! Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice. In the midst of a long term  trial, turning to God and giving Him praise for all things, can give us the strength to prevail and His peace which passeth all understanding. Singing a song of praise through our suffering can bring our heart contentment and joy. When it is hardest to do these things is when we need to do them the most.
