When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean." Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8...

Hope in the Dark from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. How can you have hope while living in a dark time? When you feel like what you are facing is so powerful, all you can do is pray. Many before us did, and we can learn from their examples.  First, if you read the New Testament, you'l...

Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, 'He will command his angels concerning you,' and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don't dash your foot against...

How to Feed a Possum

  • Therefore, I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they? Matthew 6:25 WEB

Painstakingly I hand rubbed four chicken breasts with olive oil, seasoned them carefully, pre-heated the grill to first sear them, and then slow cooked them over the flame, turning them back and forth until they were golden brown. After this, I placed my culinary creation on a plate, but as I turned and opened the door, three of them fell on the porch!

I was not to happy about this, but I took the three that I dropped out to the edge of the woods by our home and we split the last one between us. The next morning they were all gone. An opossum and a stray dog had enjoyed a feast together. God gave them a banquet, and He had me prepare it for them, gourmet style.

God takes care of the entire universe. If He will take care of a possum and a stray dog how much more will He take care of you? So many times we get caught up in the fear of what may come. God must have took care of you yesterday because you are still here to read this.

We panic because we do not trust God. Instead we put our trust in temporary things that can easily vanish or be taken from us like Laban did (Gen. 31:30). When trouble comes, so will the solution. When the need arises, so will the provision. You give your children what they need when the proper time comes, so does God.

Jesus told us 'But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well' (Matthew 6:33). This verse literally means 'ally yourself with God.' We are not to be distracted by material needs. As we work with God and do His will, our needs will be provided for. It is a leap of faith.

God sees where you are today and understands. While we worry and agonize, He is busy preparing something good for us. It is a beautiful thing when God turns the tide and we find that all of our worry and fear, was for nothing.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for providing for me. You know what I am facing here better than I do. I look to You for my help. Guide me and help me get involved in what You are doing on the earth today. I want to ally with You Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Especially because He is the one that created me, and spends His time teaching me. Help me to always be thankful for what you have done for me. You would have died if it was even just for me.

Laura B. Martinez Thank you Pastor Todd for this beautiful writing. Thank you for reminding me that whatever I am going through today or feeling, that God will help and heal me. Why must I worry and be afraid when he is already working on my behalf. May God bless you and your family today.

Iris Parlin
Iris Parlinedited: October 24, 2015 This reminds me of my sister Florence. She always has believed that God would take care of everything. I'm sure she is happy where she is but I'm sill missing her so bad. I'm not mad at God because he took her home, I just wanted more time to be with her. He does take care of everything in his own way. I'm just wondering what the next chapter of my life is? Thank you Lord for each day.
