Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers; But his delight is in Yahweh's law; On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That brings forth its fruit in its se...

When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean." Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8...

The Rock of Ages

  • You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages]. Isaiah 26:3 AMP

How did I get caught up in this mess? Many times have I asked myself that question. It would begin with a thought, which if I dwelt on it, became a desire. Before long, what started as a "harmless" thought had matured into a full-blown reality. Where the mind goes, the body soon follows. If the mind stays in the gutter, your spirit will soon be covered in slime. It all begins in the mind and our thought life guides our future actions.

When we constantly think about the troubles of tomorrow, we become anxious, worry and soon end up in tears. It robs us of our energy, time and strength. Don't let that be you; make the most of today. Each day has enough trouble of its own (Matt 6:34). Isaiah said that God would guard and keep in constant peace, the one whose mind is kept on Him. When you are focused on God, you will overcome.

Nothing coming tomorrow is too difficult because nothing is impossible for God (Luke 18:27). The Lord's arm is not too short to deliver you (Num. 11:23, Isa. 59:1). No weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isa. 54:17). Those that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength (Isa. 40:31). The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (Ps. 118:6).

Focus on God today and what He has for you, His promises and His word. Stop worrying about tomorrow and fight to keep your mind out of the gutter, if it drifts there. God is unchanging, loving and all-powerful, truly the Rock of Ages. He is able to take care of you, no matter how bad the situation looks. He invented faithfulness.

Prayer: Father, let me see through Your eyes and get in tune with what You are doing on the earth today. I want to know You in a deeper way. I want to be lost in Your presence Lord. Give me victory in my thought life and help me to focus on You, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Tanisha Ferguson
Tanisha Ferguson Amen! Great encouraging message. I have been feeling defeated lately. My daughter & I moved back to Maryland, and while I've been consistently applying for jobs, nothing has manifested.I believe All Things happen according to the Master's Plan, so I continue to keep my head up; trying not to worry & stand in/on Faith. My daughter & I attend church on Sunday's, and I feel so ashamed when the offering time comes. I have nothing to give, I often feel like giving an IOU (silly, I know) but I know God knows my heart. Sorry for rambling. Have a Blessed Day!!

Carol Pady Amen! When my thoughts are not lining up with God's will, I have learned to pray that my mind becomes controlled by His Holy Spirit.  Only then can I truly experience His peace and my thoughts are shifted to higher ground. The worries and cares of the day are lifted from my weary shoulders and my spirit soars !

Natalie Carey
Natalie Carey Excellent devotional. I am a couple of days behind. There are prayers I copy down into my journal after I have read the devotional. This is one because the key concept is asking God for help with our though lives. This is so important to starting the day with a good attitude and remaining focused on the Lord. There are a lot of things out there that distract us from our true purpose. Thank you Pastor Dion
