No one puts new wine into old wine skins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must be put into fresh wine skins, and both are preserved. Luke 5:37-38 WEB (Paralleled in: Matthew 9:17, Mark 2:22).The most radical change rec...

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled. They recognized that they had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13 WEB.The disciples of Jesus were mostly uneducated fishermen, but later people lined the streets hoping that the shado...

Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I don't make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time!" When he saw that, he arose,...

I Want to Hold Your Hand

  • When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed. When he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses' hands were heavy; so they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side. His hands were steady until sunset. Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. Exodus 17:11-13 WEB.

It's easy to pray when things are going well in your life, but when things get so bad that you go into survival mode, you need others to pray for you. There are times when you can't walk alone, and it's you in need of prayer.

I have lived through times when I needed to pray more than anything but no longer had the words, energy, faith, willpower, or hope to pray. I was spiritually exhausted and began to sink into dark despair, but my friends at church prayed for me constantly, and things in my life began to change. Their prayers for me were answered.

Today, if you are walking alone while your world seems to be crumbling around you, then share it with other believers and get them to pray with you. It works. If you have no one like that, then you need to find a group of believers who will.

If possible, visit the nearest church and speak to the pastor. If you can't do that, join us at Refreshing Hope and post your prayer request. We will pray with you. Even if your life is great, be sure to walk with other believers who will stand with you through the bad times. Like Moses, you sometimes need others to hold your hand.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that You put the people in my life that should be there. Separate me from bad influences and replace them with good ones. Please stir my heart to pray for those around me and surround me with those who will pray for me. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

If you have ever felt too beaten down to pray, read the message today for a word of hope, and for a way to have people pray for you.

Karen Fletcher
Karen Fletcher Rose, I am in the same situation with my husband. He also is in the last stages of Alzheimer’s, and only has a short time to be with me before he joins the father. My prayers are with you as I understand the loneliness and the loss. Be comforted and knowing that God is always with you. This is one thing I have learned He never fails. If you need a friend, you may reach out to me.

AMEN! I'm in a place like this right know, as Pastor Dion stated, unable to even utter words, I'm like a well run dry, so I'm asking, not just myself but also speaking for our entire family, desperately looking for someone to hold my/our hands, to keep them lifted up beseeching the Lord, our Heavenly Father, to help and heal our grandson Alexander who's back in the hospital, completely dehydrated, unable to hold food down, had another focal seizure, please pray as the Lord leads you, and thank you so much!
