Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be given to you. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you. Luke 6:38 WEB.We once had a prophet come to our church who was scheduled to preach elsewhere but was canceled at the last minute. He rode into town on a bus, then became stranded and needed money to get back home. So he called up pastors in the area and was invited to minister at our church. He was humble and hungry, and he delivered a powerfully anointed message.
At the end of the service, our pastor had him come upfront, hold a basket, and we collected an offering for him to get back home. Though I had already paid my tithes for the week, I felt I should help him. I looked in my wallet, and I had forty dollars, so I went up and put it in his offering basket. He prayed the Lord would return everything given one-hundred-fold.
Within a few weeks, someone gave me four thousand dollars. It was someone I'd met by working on their house. They said, "I feel like we should help you get another car." That was exactly a one-hundred-fold return on my giving. The Lord turned my forty dollars into four thousand.
Today there has been so much excess and greed in the church that mentioning giving is considered taboo. Yet, the promises of God are very real. I had given to many speakers before, but this one was good ground.
Jesus said, "Give, and it will be given to you." And the measure that you give determines what comes back to you. Even though you may have little to nothing, God can show you who to give to. Remember the widow that only had two mites yet had given more than everyone else? (Mark 12:42).
God's love is unconditional, but His blessings aren't. When reading through the Bible, you will find many statements like, "If you do this, then I will do that." Consider this promise:
Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me! But you say, 'How have we robbed you?' In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with the curse; for you rob me, even this whole nation. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this," says Yahweh of Armies, "if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be enough room for." Malachi 3:8-10 WEB.
Now you don't have to give your money to us or go to our church, though you are welcome to, and we appreciate it. Just follow the Lord's guidance, and give as He tells you. One thing about math is that a one-hundred-fold return on zero will always come back as zero.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I know that Your word tells me to give. I pray that You will show me how to give. Please guide me from this day on, and help me sow in good ground. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!Note: All are invited to join us this morning for our RHM Live Online church service. Amen! This is scripture, to give and God will bless you with the measure you give it will be measured back to you. I believe this 100! I have been down financially several times but I still managed to give 10% of my earnings which was not very much. God doesnt care how much we give but He asks us to give 10% of our earnings whatever that amount may be. So many times people who are struggling to make ends meet are afraid to give because they dont even have enough for bills and groceries but God promises that he will bless your offering and give you back more than you gave. I have seen this in my own life and know it to be 100% true. God wants our hearts more than our money but he can use our money in His kingdom for His purposes. God wants to know your heart, to see if you will trust Him and give even though it doesnt make sense in the natural world to give when you can barely afford food, but like the poor widow in the Bible she gave her last coins, it wasnt much but it was all she had. We have to give with a greatful heart and also believe that God is more than able to return more to you then you gave, and God Never Fails!!
