One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him. 'Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?' Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is...

Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 'How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, that murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me. Tell them, As I live, says Yahweh, surely as you have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you' N...

The Late Bloomer

  • He said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus said to him, Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise. Luke 23:42 WEB

As they hung bleeding on the crosses that they had been nailed to, one of the thieves asked Jesus to remember him, and Jesus said "today you will be with Me in paradise." After a life of crime, and with only moments left to live, this criminal made things right with God and was saved.

Jesus told the thief that it would be a blissful place (Paradise), in the immediate future (Today), and with Jesus (With Me). A simple sentence and the right attitude and that man was saved. It could happen anywhere, and at anytime. Where there is breath, there is hope.

I have met people who thought God would never forgive them for the things that they had done, but the sin problem was taken care of at the crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus took away the sin of the universe (kosmos - John 1:29). If you will let Jesus wash your sins away, you get to start completely fresh with a clean slate and nothing that you have done in the past will be held against you. Though our sins be like scarlet, He will wash us as white as snow (Isa. 1:18).

When you fall, get up. This is an endurance race and we all trip at times. We all need His forgiveness. Your pastor needs forgiveness just as much as you do. As long as you keep trying, you are going to make it. Your past can no longer stop you and God is here to help with your future. It is never too late to get started and He can make what is left of your life count. No matter the situation or what you may have done, there is still hope.

Prayer: Father I thank you so much for forgiving me of the things that I have done wrong. Fill my life with Your presence and let me be a living testimony of the power of God. Walk with me, talk to me and through me, let me live my life for You, in the name of Jesus I pray.

Note: Happy Sunday! While many of us will be attending our local church today, I would like to invite you to connect on this website and find out about the features of the online church here. If you are already a member and haven''t participated in a while, we would love to see you again! In addition to the main page and forums where all members can interact all through the week, we have our amazing small groups (which are communities in themselves), a private area to receive and give prayer, places to grow in the Word through the Bible Study and teachings, and more! Like many of you, we love our local church, but our vision has always been to have a place to be available during the entire week, as well as refuge for those who have none. Have a blessed day!

Jim Jarrell
Jim Jarrell I hope everyone understands this is a true word. If Jesus can save a man like me, He can save anyone! There is a book available on Amazon.com called "God Calls an Unlikely Canidate" by Jim Jarrell. I tell my story for all to see, not a pretty picture sometimes, but true. God can save anyone and forgive all their sins!

Edwin McGee
Edwin McGee I've often been asked how Jesus' death 2,000 years ago has anything to do with my Sin today.   We testify that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  That's because God exists above time. So for God yesterday, today and tomorrow exists in His eternal NOW.   That means that the Sin you commit today and Jesus hanging on the cross happens at the same time in the mind of God. When we break God's Will for our life Jesus is in the process of both paying the debt for that Sin AND proclaiming forgivenness to us. That is both a burden and a joy for us.   Also, my understanding is that people who are crucified don't bleed very much. The trauma of the crucifixion and the cauterization of the nails stops the bleeding.    Blessings for the Lord's Day.

Carol Pady
Carol Pady Thank you Lord for Pastor Dion and bless his ministry! After reading many books on the Christian faith , I find some are not teaching once saved always saved. I must admit I was troubled in my spirit and I wondered if they were right. Was it true that Christians never sin again if they are truly saved? As some claim such as Perry Stone? Then God reminded me of The Lord's prayer which Jesus gave to His disciples when they asked how they should pray. Jesus included forgive us our trespasses! This is confirmation of the fact that we will continue to sin and God will forgive us as we forgive others who sin against us. We must bring all teachings before God so we can discern what is the Truth. Thank you God for Your Divine provision of wisdom and guidance in our Christian walk !

Patricia Walker
Patricia Walker I'm certain that God forgives us for our sins. However I believe we should try daily not to commit a sin.  Isn't this giving some carte Blanche to act against God and then say, oh I sinned, sorry God!!  I knew a person who was evil to the core, and then one day a week would ask God for forgiveness but still committed the same sin over and over again.  What would Jesus do??

Robynne Moore
Robynne Moore Thanks for sharing this, often times the enemy will try to convince us (in our salvation) that God won't forgive us when we make mistakes or fall short of His glory.  We are not perfect but God is yet perfecting that which concerns us.  Again, thanks for sharing this!

Kathy Banfield It is such a tremendous blessing to be back home and navigating this great site! I can't wait to see all the new features that have been added since I was in the hospital. Funny, but my son bought me my Kindle after the surgery, but I couldn't remember all my passwords--LOL. I think I'll pick ONE uneversal PW and use it for all the sites I usually visit. Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers during this extremely stressful time of my life! love, Kathy
