The Vineyard from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. I have always admired Amos, who was a shepherd in a field when the Lord told him to go and prophesy to King Jeroboam in Bethel. The priest Amaziah told him to prophesy somewhere else. They weren't interested in what the Lord had to say, but A...

Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth your hand now, and touch all t...

A Christmas Story

  • Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be given to you. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you. Luke 6:38 WEB.

One year as Christmas approached, we felt like doing something special. Looking back, I am sure that it was the Holy Spirit prompting us. He needed us to plant seeds for what He planned to do in our lives the following year. We would need better equipment for what He had in store.

We owned a small computer business, and our work was slow that season. We had some used parts and spare time, but very little money, so we came up with an idea to take all the spare parts that we could muster and build them into working computers. Then we would find some widows in the church who didn't own one yet and bless them with a fully functioning computer. We managed to build and distribute about four computer systems that Christmas.

We made a few people very happy and had a great Christmas. Then in January, a client contacted us and gave us over $10,000 of new computer equipment. We got enterprise-level servers and firewalls that we would not have dreamed of buying. Some of it is still in use here at Refreshing Hope today. We reap what we have sown, better, and multiplied.

If you get the urge to be a blessing to someone, do it. Your flesh will always tell you to keep it for yourself, but the Holy Spirit will prompt you to give, and then He will bless you in return. God could bless you anyway, but He said, "Give, and it will be given to you." I didn't write it, I read it. That is His chosen way of doing things. The reverse could read: "Don't give, and it won't be given to you." Sowing and reaping work just as the farmers who plant and then harvest. If you don't plant seeds, the only things that come up are the weeds.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please show me the opportunities in my life to plant seeds that will make a difference. Guide me today and give me wisdom in my giving. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.' (Philippians 4:6-7) ~ If you have a prayer need, we are here for you! We and the prayer team are ready to lift you up at our private prayer page: RHM Prayer Network

Amen and Amen!!! I'm asking the Lord to increase my borders of outreach to be able to reach as many as I can by using my gifts/talents that I received from Him, and for the Hl. Spirit to teach me and guide me, to put the right words into my mouth and tell me when to be silent; and that I'm able to continue in giving monetarily under His wisdom and guidance, in the name of Jesus I pray, Amen! Lord, please help me, I sincerely want to serve You with all of my heart and soul!

Holy Spirit teach us and remind us and prompt us about this principal of giving. We cannot manage on our own. Stretch our borders so that we can accomodate those you align along our way.
