I have said these things to you, while still living with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you. Pharaoh's daughter came down to bathe at the river. Her maidens walked along by the riverside. She saw the basket among the reeds, and sent her handmaid to get it. Water For The Thirsty

  • On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive John 7:3739 ESV

We have been working on our data center this week, trying to improve the air conditioning system, which has been straining under record heat. It has been blazing, sticky and uncomfortable. During most of the year, we are not the best at drinking the amount of water we should, but there is nothing quite as refreshing and life-giving as a cold glass of water on a hot day. It can literally give us chills.

The Lord has promised to give living water to those who are thirsty, to those who seek Him out more than anything else. A psalmist wrote "Like a deer panting for water so my soul longs after you." There is a point where nothing else will do but the presence of the Lord. There is no substitute.

Intense heat will bring on a powerful thirst. Sometimes the things that make us go "Oh, woe is me" are actually just preparing us to be thirsty for more of Him. When your back is to the wall, there is no substitute for the presence of the Lord because He gives water to the thirsty. Be thankful when God gives you the opportunity to lean on Him and to have your thirst quenched by His living water.

Prayer: Father, thank you for the gift of your living water. I so thirst for more of your presence and pray that you fill me with your Holy Spirit each day.

Patty Martin
Patty Martin Thanking Christ every day for quenching the thirst in my life.  Half of my life was spent looking for other things to satisfy me.  Sometimes they did, but only temporarily.  Christ never gave up on me.  He knew my heart...I loved him...yet, I truly did not know him.  I wanted to know him.  I wanted to feel him close in my heart and I wanted to have a relationship with him as so many others did.  My niece led me to a wonderful, Bible-based church where the pastor began teaching me how to apply the Word to my life.  There I found what I needed to begin knowing Christ and all he has done for me.  I felt the Holy Spirit and the emptiness began to slip away.  I was becomming filled with the Spirit and was no longer thirsty.  Christ has saved me from a troubled, confused, and lonely life.  No matter what comes my way, I know that the Lord is right there with me.  I continue seek his will for my life, honor his will, and know him even better.  Praising Him today and all the days of my life.  I am no longer thirsty.

Deleted Member Amen, if we can Praise Him in the good times, and if we can Praise Him in the bad times, that makes us realize He is with us no matter what kind of times we are having. He loves us and He is always there in the good and the bad, He will never leave us nor forsake us. God is so good.

Cheryl Hepler
Cheryl Hepler Yes, up against the wall in first marriage with alcoholism.  Truly pull up in front of house & see the black door I was about to enter.  Misery.....tests....crying...& more ongoing problems to fix with teachers, truant officer, off wall behavior in my son, daughter attempted suiside....then she went to mental part of hospital.  When she did come home with much help surrounding she went out & not return till she felt to.  So that then went to decision of whether she wanted to stay home or live at her boyfriend's house.  She said house.  Then it changed and moved out.  Friends later awhile and then not which continues still.  My X was at men's club a lot or drunk in chair.  He was talented and a sorry thing to see get waisted.  Met a girl in due time lead me to Christ & Baptism.  Sooo thank the Lord came more real to me then ever.  Up front & C L O S E!!  Went everywhere to drink the water He had waiting for me.  The Rivers of Life Flowing Out To Me (a song I use to sing..oldie but goodie
