If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances, "Don't handle, nor taste, nor touch" (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men? These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imp...

While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn. Walk on Water from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. An extraordinary event unfolds in Matthew chapter 14, one that is unparalleled elsewhere in the Bible: a common fisherman defying the laws of nature by walking on water. This miraculous feat wasn't performed by Jesus, but rather by Peter, a ...

The Bumpy Road

  • Ruth said, "Don't urge me to leave you, and to return from following you, for where you go, I will go; and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May Yahweh do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me." Ruth 1:16'17 WEB.

Ruth and her mother-in-law Naomi walked along the bumpy road quietly, thinking about all that had happened to them. Elimelech, Naomi's husband, had died. Then Ruth's husband and his brother also died. Now, it was just the two of them left. Ruth and Naomi, and they were penniless.

Naomi urged Ruth to turn back and go home to stay with her family, but Ruth clung to her. Ruth told Naomi, "Where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay." Though she knew there would be trying times ahead for them, the path to Ruth's destiny was down that bumpy road. For God richly blessed Ruth after this and gave her another husband named Boaz. She became the grandmother of King David and is listed in the lineage of Jesus.

Salmon became the father of Boaz by Rahab. Boaz became the father of Obed by Ruth. Obed became the father of Jesse. Jesse became the father of King David... Matthew 1:5-6 WEB.

Sometimes our destiny lies down a difficult path. While on the way there, we are given a choice to turn back. So many turned back from following Jesus. Elisha was given a chance to remain behind several times before he received his double portion anointing. But if you stay the course, the reward will be worth it. God will fulfill His promises to you just as He did with Ruth, though the road can be bumpy along the way.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me see the path You have for me clearly. Please give me the grace to face this day and victory over those who would harm me. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
