Jesus answered him, "If I don't wash you, you have no part with me." Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!" Jesus said to him, "Someone who has bathed only needs to have his feet washed, but is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you." For he kn...

Jesus, looking at them, said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God." The Promised Land from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. In the book of Joshua, the Israelites were gathered together on the bank of the Jordan River. The Buck Stops Here

  • If I shut up the sky so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 WEB.

I have a Dilbert cartoon about computer tech support taped to our internet router here. It reminds me of our service provider. Each time we have an internet problem and call them, they immediately say that something must be wrong with our equipment. They shift the blame to us, but then they silently fix it in the background. That said, they are great for a small-town ISP.

In the cartoon, Dilbert, the technician, picks up the support telephone and says: 'Your problem is with another company's products or services.' Without even hearing, knowing, or caring, what the problem was. The customer said: 'But you haven't heard what the problem is yet.' To which Dilbert replied: 'Let's pretend that will make a difference.'

As Christians, we often try to pass the buck onto the evil world or other groups while we are the only ones with the key. We like to believe we are in this situation because of someone else. When actually we are trapped in a pit that we dug ourselves. Many times we are merely reaping what we have sown in the past (Galatians 6:7).

There is only one way out of the pit: That we turn to God and away from our wicked ways. We humble ourselves and pray. Then He promises that He will hear from heaven, turn, and heal our land. Whether we caused it or not, we have the answer to bring change.

The answer lies not in politics or war but in seeking God. All through the Bible, God moved when His people began to seek Him with all their heart. When they became lukewarm and backslidden, their nation fell apart.

Can Christians prosper in a fallen world? Absolutely! If we all were to humble ourselves (fasting), repent (turn from our wicked ways), and pray, then God will turn and heal our nation. May God give us the wisdom and grace to do so before it is too late.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that You bring peace to our nation. Forgive us. Please guide our leaders and remove evil influences from our government. Fill our country with Your presence, and convict people of sin once again. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day in the US, but it is always a good time to be thankful for the life He has give us and the precious gift of His Son, wherever we may be in the world! May you all have a blessed, peaceful, safe and joyous celebration! We know that this year, for many of us, will be celebrated differently, whether because of distancing, or the loss of loved ones - praying that He wraps His arms around you in comfort as we remember those who have been lost this year, and that He helps us to celebrate safely. God bless, everyone!

Thank you Lord for the gift of repentence and for allowing us to pray and look to you always for reassurance and guidance.  I pray that our world will become a much better place and that we continue to look to Jesus, Our Savior to lead us in the right direction.  May everyone at Refreshing Hope Ministries and those who are a part of this family have a very safe, blessed and joyous Thanksgiving, and may Almighty God watch over us and protect us and keep us safe, nestled in his arms, in Jesus most precious name I pray, Amen!!

Heavenly Father I humbly pray that You heal our nation from the snares of the enemy, guide our leaders to do a better job for Your people so we all have a blessed outcome. The enemy is working very hard to destroy our country but with prayers and petitions and the love You have for us Your children we will be healed. In the name of Your beloved Son Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

An awesome devotional for a time as this, God bless you and Sylvia.
