Then Mordecai asked them to return this answer to Esther: "Don't think to yourself that you will escape in the king's house any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent now, then relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Who...

In the same hour, the fingers of a man's hand came out and wrote near the lamp stand on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace. The king saw the part of the hand that wrote. Then the king's face was changed in him, and his thoughts troubled him; and the joints of his thighs were loosened, and ...

One of the criminals who was hanged insulted him, saying, "If you are the Christ, save yourself and us!" But the other answered, and rebuking him said, "Don't you even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward for our deeds, but this ma...

I See Nothing There

  • And Peter answered Him, Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water. He said, Come. So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. Matthew 14:28 ESV

Waves splashed against the side of the boat and the light of the moon shone across the water as Peter and the other disciples stared at Jesus, thinking that He was a ghost. When Jesus told Peter to come, Peter stood in the boat and looked at the water, but there was nothing there to be seen, except for the water, and Jesus standing on it.

All of his common sense and experience as a fisherman told him if you step out there, you will drown. The rest of the disciples knew it as well. Everyone knew better than to try to walk on water. Peter pushed these thoughts out of his mind and took a tentative step. Before his foot touched the water, it became solid and supported him. Though he could see nothing there, when he stepped out in faith, there was something there to catch him.

That is living faith, obeying even though it looks impossible. Matters of faith are rarely understood by the mind. Once you say 'I cannot do that', you have prophesied your own future. All the heroes of the Bible spoke positively and in faith. Joshua commanded the sun to stand still (Joshua 10:12) and it did. Elijah commanded it not to rain and it did not for three and a half years (James 5:17).

We are to work together with God to accomplish His will on the earth. He may ask us to do things that we do not have the means to do. At that point, He will provide whatever is needed, though we may see nothing there. It will be there right before your foot hits the water.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me see the unseen. Help me believe and build my faith, in the name of Jesus I pray.

Note: Good Morning Creation Photographers! Thank you for joining our group fun with your posts and comments. Seems spring has sprung a leak around here!! It was so nice and warm all week, now we're back to cold and wet. That is part of the beauty of spring though, unpredictable weather. At least I can be grateful for the knowledge that with rain comes growth Things get nourished and nature comes alive - I do love when nature comes alive with color! Song of Solomon 2:12-13 "The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away." ~ 'Spring Fever' will be our next fun theme and, as always, is open wide for creative interpretation. We encourage you to post anything else that inspires you as well. My photos (in the group) this week reflect nature in full, bright growth and glory. Have a wonderful week everyone! Don't forget to stop and smell grape vines - God bless! Here is the link: Creation Photographers

Dear Father sometimes I feel frightened and discouraged to do things, I need Your presence and believe that there is nothing we cannot do if we have the faith in You. I trust You in everything You command us to do, in the name of the Lord we pray, Amen. Thank You Jesus.
