The Wonder of You from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about the wonder of the Lord. I believe that wonder is a great definition of what it feels like to have the Holy Spirit moving in your life. It can feel almost magical, surreal, at times you may ask yourself “I...

The One Who Sees Me

  • They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you, for I am with you, declares the LORD, to deliver you. Jeremiah 1:19 ESV

Things were finally going well in our computer business. We had one particular client with multiple locations that took up all the time that we could give them. For the first time in forever, we could work all that we wanted and they loved us. We had our own keys to the building. They knew that I was ordained and often asked us to pray for them. We would anoint them with oil right there at their desks, the Holy Spirit would settle on them, and soon they would be in tears.

Then I had a dream one night that I was driving a dump truck that belonged to them with their logo on the door. I was pulling a trailer with a backhoe on it. Someone had sabotaged the trailer and had loosened the chains that held the backhoe on so when I turned a corner, it ran off the trailer and into a building. In the dream, the people there all started blaming me for it and pointing like it was my fault.

Right after this dream, we lost that client. The company had recently brought in a new manager, and the managers younger brother did computer work like us. In order to get the company to give their work to their brother, the manger lied about us to the owner and started breaking things, then blaming us. It worked for one year, then God stepped in and made it right.

My wife had a dream that I called her from this company's office and that I was there working on their computers. When the owner's call came the following week, I was expecting it, because God had shown us. To shorten this up, the manager had been caught in some very bad things, was fired and escorted to the door. They had us come back in to do forensics, recover their deleted files, and re-secure their network. God saw what was happening in our life and He warned us to prepare us for it. He cared what happened.

Know that when you are wronged, God sees it, and in due time He will make it right. Dont stoop to their level, just keep a positive attitude, keep praying and treat others like you would like to be treated. God is not a distant presence in the universe that is too high and mighty to be bothered with the small problems of your life. If you will invite Him to be a part of it, He will. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me (Revelation 3:20 NKJV).

Barbara Mango I always ask Jesus to be present in every aspect of my life and to fill every fiber of my being with His holy spirit. There are many times when I feel that He is the only one sustaining me in a world that is mostly indifferent at best.

Tara Morgan
Tara Morgan What do you do when a step parent has ruined your relationship with your real parent? It wasn't all at once, but over the past 17 years I went from a pretty good relationship to a virtually non existent one now. Now, I don't want to put in the effort because I have been hurt so many times in the past..

Twila Stierwalt
Twila Stierwalt God keeps saying in chapter 1, to be strong and (confident) courageous, do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. We do have to fight battles some times, But the Lord is always with us, to deliver us. One thing I am learning is to let God help me when things seem to hard for me. He promises to deliver me. I just need to renew my mind daily by being in His word.

Madalyn Myers
Madalyn Myers I find it odd that I can relate to a lot of the devotional word of the day. This particular story is basically what I am going through. I trusted a close friend and I constantly go through pain wondering why they are not honest. This has caused friction with family and partners. I pray daily about my friend but it seems like they take pleasure out of my hurt. I can only say that I pray that my heart will heal from this matter. And that I can do like Pastor Dion say, Stay positive. Because I do get angry and say things out of anger. But this is what they like. So I have to practice humility. The word was great.

Carol Pady If we trust God to defend us when we are wrongly accused or attacked, He does it better than we could ever do alone. I have had people apologize and circumstances change , always to our advantage. We need only to be still and know that He is God.

Nell Neathery
Nell Neathery Pastor and Sylvia, I am here in the morning!  I read 3 devotionals this morning that came in my email box.  Then, I read my pastor's (here where I go to church) daily Bible verse.  Lo and behold, Pastor Dion's email opened and I didn't click to open it.  And when I saw it, your email was above my pastor's email.  Now, I know I hearing God's voice every day, and He is with me!

Nell Neathery God is not a distance presence in the universe as Pastor Dion says.  It is not long distance to talk to Him.  God has no phone, but I talk to Him.  He has no Facebook, but He is still my friend.  He does not have a twitter, but I still follow Him.  in Jesus' name! (Amen)

Evan Force Sometimes when horrible things happen like you described Dion, I just want to lock myself in my home and not see or talk to anyone.  Then I dwell on how bad the people are that did the horrible things.  I know...unhealthy behavior and thoughts.  I eventually snap out of it and allow God to be God.

Deleted Member I have a stepfather too, but my real Dad abandoned me and my mom, so my stepdad has been my only real dad. There have been times when things seem impossible to me when i met my biological family. Somethings can be mended, but it takes work and a lot of prayer. I don't know what is best for you, but when i decided to find my biological family, my stepdad was very supportive, because he thought this might do some healing inside of me and it did. I know each situation is different, but if my biological dad was alive today even though he abandoned me and my mom, i would still love him, even if i felt like i couldn't be a part of his life, but it feels like you would really like to make things better for your family and that is wonderful, but I do ask you to pray and if you need to seek professional help, please do. I had to. I have been seeing a therapist since 1999, because i was diagnoised with PTSD. I didn't really know how much of an impact all this had on my life, until i began to tell my story, my therapist was wonderful, a Christian lady that help me through many tough days. Tara, I will be praying that Jesus guides you and directs you into the perfect direction for you. God bless you and you will be in  my prayers.:):):)

Deleted Member Yes, it is very sad that we live in a world that is just out there. Its like they never give Jesus a second thought. Like if they are going to live in this world forever and the world is never going to stop. But the best things I think for us to do is to pray for them, pray for our world as a whole and hang onto Jesus like never before, because I want to be ready and I want the world to see Jesus shining in me. God bless you:):)

Maria Luna
Maria Luna I was praying for this answer Pastor, someone did something very wrong to me and it hurts becauseI knew this person from church and she wasn't ( or I thought she was) not only my friend but my sister in Christ, so I asked for advice and some people told me to go to her Job and get my money or to go to the police and had them ask her for the money I worked for , I don't know I wasn't feeling right about doing this, although I knew people were right and I was asking only for what was mine, and they even talked to me with Bible verses about how right I would be if I choose to do this, but still I didn't feel good doing it, I asked God to speak to me and to let me know what He wanted me to do about this situation, I think this is it. He knows and He sees everything., I trust you Lord.

Many times people have hurt me or wrong me, but even though it hurt really bad, I  gave it to Jesus, because I was afraid i would make a bad situation worse, but if I let Jesus handle it, then it would work out for my best. Cheryl Hepler
Cheryl Hepler As I read I thought of a happening couple of years ago.  I went in hospital for back surgery L3 & L4.  I liked my surgeon.  Before I went I kept getting the thought that I was about to drink a cup.  This has deep meaning to me from years before this.  Never could I drink the Lord's cup but it was going to be something not so good and God was warning me.  After surgery all was said to be good.  In my room all seemed great.  It was an overnite stay.  Doc said out of bed with assistance only.  A nurse came in for various reasons.  A few hours later when I put button on to be assisted to bathroom she said what do I want?  I said help..she said your fine just grab IV pole & walk over.  I said I must have help doc said.  She didn't help & on button went again...this a very nice make nurse came in & said can I help you?  Yes, plz.  In talking I found out he was a born again Christian.  I called him my angel.  He came in quite often.  She came again to assist & same negative response.  She said I can get you a commode....I said who will help me out of bed?  She became upset & said I can't keep running down hall to you!  I have 3 triage patients she said.  Angel came in again.  He said he has watch her acting out.  Later he came in & reported her & nurse in charge talked to her right away.  I said oh, well thank you.  Nurse came later for meds(which were late).  Upon leaving she said is there anything I can do for you?  I said thank you not at the moment.  I became down wondering how all nite would go so I slept little.  I had meds to take hours before ordering a tray.  They were forgotten so I called to keep being ready for tray. The surgeon came in & said I would be going home shortly.  I mentioned my stay over nite and he said she needs reporting.  He said she lied to you for there are no triage patients on this floor. I got home & in days had a lot of pain.  Calling doc his nurse said it was normal.  I asked for pain med & she said he does not give any.  Had some from arthritic doc I could use yet not strong enough.  Months went on this way even a visit to emergency.  No help.  A visit to surgeon as a follow up & xray.  Still in much pain.  My husband was with me.  At end of visit my husband asked why I had to go thru all this?  Also about my fibromyalgia which makes me more apt to have a low threshold for pain.  Surgeon turned around in swivel chair pointing his finger at me loudly saying you are the only patient I had like me with pain.  I said I have fibro...he said no that is no reason!!  He is back in times/denying & being mean to me.  I met him thought wow what a nice doc only to see his teeth show next.  I was so hurt, in pain & upset I cried all the way home.  Days later I was watching news and saw faces of men arrested on screen saying I know him & oh my it was my x surgeon arrested with others for child pornography!  Later hospital fired him too.  All were in a different class of status then him so much was said of being  practicing surgeon.  Married with two young children & using hospital computer too.  Highest counts charged.  Seeing other docs in a soon time they said he moved out of the country also.  This was the cup.  From nurse to surgeon.  The physical pain was as much as emotional yet God was in charge!  Amen!
