They traveled from Mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. The soul of the people was very discouraged because of the journey. The people spoke against God and against Moses: 'Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there i...

Or who is there among you who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! M...

He said to them, 'Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there. Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomo...

Radically Saved

  • They said to you that 'In the last time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts.' These are they who cause divisions, and are sensual, not having the Spirit. But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. Jude 1:18 WEB

I sat down in the break room to have lunch and said a prayer over my food as usual, and a guy at the next table, who was becoming very annoyed with my faith, started to mock me. I smiled, ate my lunch and left. Like Elijah, I felt that I was the only person in this factory that had any reverence for God at all. I was on fire for Jesus at the time and pleasing Him was all that mattered to me. I had become radically saved.

I have seen a lot of mockers in the workplace, especially in construction. They used to yell at me 'Pray for me, preacher! I am going to commit some adultery tonight, Lord willing' and everyone would have a good laugh. I wasn't a preacher, I just went to church and said a blessing over my lunch, but that was enough for them.

After lunch that day, someone approached me in secret and explained that he was a Christian as well. He wanted me to know, but didn't want to tell anyone else because he would be mocked for his faith like me. I explained that I wasn't seeking to be mocked either, but that I would not be ashamed of the Lord Jesus Christ. He warned us that if we did, that He would be ashamed of us: 'For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed' (Luke 9:26).

Being mocked is a small price to pay for a relationship. Would you deny knowing your spouse or mother because of what someone else thinks? If I have to choose between pleasing them or Jesus, they lose. If they fire me, there is another job waiting. If they knock me down, God can lift me up. If they beat me, God is able to heal me. If they kill me then it will only send me to heaven to be with Him. 'I have put my trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?' (Psalms 56:11).

Pray and build yourself up in the Holy Spirit daily. There will always be scoffers, but knowing Jesus is nothing to be ashamed of. A light is meant to shine and not be hidden under a basket (Matthew 5:15). Hold your head up and act like you know Jesus on Monday as well as Sunday. It is fun to be radically saved.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You for giving me another day here. Help me shine Lord. Please give me strength to become who You created me to be. Help me to stand strong for You in the face of adversity, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: For those who are participating in our Creation Photographers theme of the week: Psalm 107:29 "He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed." ~ Our next fun theme will be 'In the Eye of the Storm' and is open for interpretation as always so please do get creative! You are encouraged to post anything else that inspires you as well. May you all feel God's love and grace surrounding you each and every day ~ God bless! Here is the link: Creation Photographers

Amen! Thank You Lord! I just wonder how many think they are saved but fulfill Jude 1:18? Look in the middle of that scripture where it says not having the Spirit.
