For there is no distinction, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Walking on Water from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about the importance of believing the Lord, of shaking off the naysayers and continuing on your own journey. People have a tendency to not want you to go where they have not been. Leaders cannot lead you, where they h...

Out of that terrible travail of soul, he'll see that it's worth it and be glad he did it. Through what he experienced, my righteous one, my servant, will make many 'righteous ones,' as he himself carries the burden of their sins. Therefore I'll reward him extravagantly' the best of everything, the ...

  • Moses said to Yahweh, 'O Lord,* I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.' Yahweh said to him, 'Who made man's mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn't it I, Yahweh? Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak.' Moses said, 'Oh, Lord, please send someone else.' Exodus 4:10-13 WEB

Moses was now eighty years old and living a quiet life as a shepherd near Mount Horeb. He had settled down, he had a wife, children, and a boring but steady job. His life was not what he had thought it would be while growing up in Egyptian royalty, but it wasn't bad. During this time, Moses became great at herding sheep. Then the day came when his preparation was complete, the Lord appeared to him, and his destiny began.

Moses didn't want to go, and if he would have gotten his way, he would have probably died a simple shepherd at Mount Horeb. But God had other plans for him, and Moses soon became the most powerful person that has lived on earth, besides Jesus. Moses thought the dream of delivering his people was long dead, but it hadn't even started. He told God to send someone else, but He wouldn't take no for an answer.

If I had gotten my way in my own life, I would not be here writing this today. Over twenty-five years ago the Lord told me that I would be in ministry in His 'appointed' time, to begin to prepare myself for it. So I went through bible college, earned a degree, got ordained, but after graduating, every single door was shut.

I worked various jobs to get by and ended up working with computers for the next twenty years. The Lord eventually put me in my own computer business and I forgot about those dreams of ministry. I figured that I had missed Him, or maybe let Him down one too many times. Then one day our computer business dried up, and no amount of praying, giving, fasting, or begging seemed to make a difference. All doors closed and I could not find a job anywhere. Then the week that we were packing to move out of our home, I suddenly found myself working as a pastor.

Now I use the computer skills that I learned along the way to build our online church, to reach people over the internet, to bring live interactive church services to the disabled, and those who have no church. I share the testimonies that I lived while walking with God in the workplace. It was what God intended all along, but when it came about, I just wanted Him to send someone else. I had long given up on that dream.

God often has better plans for us than we do for ourselves. Our view is too narrow to see the whole picture. When things are not going the way that you want them to, know that God is working out something so much better than you had in mind. Keep the faith. Trust God. Keep putting one foot in front of the other one. When you stumble, get back up. It is not over, it is only beginning. Don't call the dream, when it has not even started.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I know that You have a plan for me. Please help me find the place that I belong, guide me into all that You have for me, and help me make the right choices along the way. Give me a clear vision for my life and help me to focus on the right things, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people" (Ephesians 6:18).
