The Vineyard from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. I have always admired Amos, who was a shepherd in a field when the Lord told him to go and prophesy to King Jeroboam in Bethel. The priest Amaziah told him to prophesy somewhere else. They weren't interested in what the Lord had to say, but A...

Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? Peace of Mind

  • In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6 WEB

Many saints and martyrs in the past have faced terrible trials and death with a peace in their hearts that no one could explain. Some sang hymns on the way to their execution, or even while being burned on a stake. They had access to the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Today many of us do not have this peace, but it is still available for us. God has not changed His mind. There is still a peace that surpasses all understanding, and it is available through prayer. It is a supernatural peace where you do not understand, but you thoroughly know that it will be OK.

So many times in my life, I have had to face a situation where I had no answers, but after praying for a few moments, I knew what to do. He taught me to lean on Him, especially in the workplace. When God shows up at church, it is hopefully expected. When He shows up in the workplace, it begins to shake things up, and it puts a smile on my face. My trials maybe minor when compared to the great saints, but they are major to me.

When things begin to overwhelm you, stop and pray a moment. Make your requests known to God. Pray until the peace comes, and the stress leaves. Pour your heart out to God as you would your best friend and talk with Him throughout the day. Be yourself when praying and do not pretend to be too Holy, or speak in religious biblical terms to impress Him. He knows you far better than that. The best that you can do is to humbly acknowledge that you need His help today. Pray about your needs, and then patiently trust Him to come through.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You so much for taking care of me. Please give me the grace to face this day and make it fun, simple, and easy. Cover me with Your presence and fill me with Your peace, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

My dear Lord is constantly reminding me of His wonderful peace.  With this overwhelming move, with no home to move into, it does, I must admit, frighten me somewhat, however, my Lord is always with me and when I am stressing, I just need to pause and talk to Him and a wonderful feeling comes over me, His beautiful promised peace.  Thank you Lord, I know you have it all covered. Thank you Pastor Dion for making my day.

Hi Bella,

I will be praying for you. I too just went through a scary time after I lost my job. We had to sell our beautiful house that we had lived in for 10 years. We had no idea where we would move to or what we could afford. There were a lot of fears but God was with me every day. He told me to trust Him that He had this. I just kept believing that God would see me through it all and make a way where we couldnt see a way. He did just that. I prayed morning and night on my knees for God to work on my behalf because I was scared and didnt want to be homeless. God always has a plan for us and we just need to trust Him to work out His plan for our good. God goes before us and He stands behind us. He paves the way for us and smooths the roads for us. I shouldnt have been so afraid because God has always taken care of me but as humans we give in to fear too often.

Thank you Sherrry.  What an inspirational message.  We've moved before but we truly had put everything into this home and our hearts.  Been here 9 years and thought this was where we would spend the remainder of our lives.  Well, that was not in God's plan.  I know if we were about 10 years younger it would physically be a little better to deal with.  Being 76 years old and beginning from scratch and I mean bear land, everything from the beginning and not by others but by our own hands, I was definitely overwhelmed.  However, as I have been truly trusting our Lord, each day has become easier and I know He will give us not only the physical strenght to do what we must but His spiritual strength and guidance. God is good, always.  I know everything will be alright and I am grateful.  Again, thank you Sherry  and may our Lord continue to bless you and draw you near.  Have a blessd and happy day.(L)

The Peace that God gives defintely surpasses all understanding. I recently got layed off from a job I had worked very hard at for 13 years. Our company got bought out by another company. These new managers didnt care that we had worked at this company for many years. I knew that the term was coming soon because I saw that they were trying to get me to quit by overloading me with work. If they got me to quit on my own they would not have to pay my unemployment benefits. I couldnt afford to quit so I just hung on and prayed and trusted God I had scripture written all over my desk. The day that they let me go I had the peace that surpasses all understanding. I saw myself reacting and speaking very calmly and unemotionally. This person was not me at all. All of my co-workers were worried about how I was acting because it was not like me. They thought I was in shock from being terminated, but in realiy I was given the Peace that Surpasses all understanding by my God and Savior. This was such an amazing experience.
