For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn't hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth....

For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees? But if we hope for that which we don't see, we wait for it with patience. Romans 8:24 WEB'Oh I don't want to face tomorrow. I have a bad, bad, feeling about this.' On and on we go into a spiral of sel...

Baby Jesus from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about “Who is Jesus?” I feel that we take it for granted that people actually know that much about Him. In the world we see Jesus as a baby in a manger, then crucified on a cross. The life of Jesus seems to span...

Agree to Disagree

  • This saying is faithful, and concerning these things I desire that you affirm confidently, so that those who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men; but shun foolish questionings, genealogies, strife, and disputes about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. Titus 3:8 WEB

Years ago, I thought that everyone needed to believe the same thing that I did, and I could make a convincing argument as to why. In Bible College, we often had vigorous discussions about some petty point of doctrine. Yet not once that I remember, did I actually convince anyone of anything except to avoid me when they saw me coming.

Jesus told us to Love God, and to love each other. Yet by large we search out reasons to disagree. It is great to witness, but when you reach a point of disagreement, and it is clear that neither party is going to change their mind, move on to the next topic. It is perfectly fine to disagree. We are all wrong about something, and no one needs our approval to go to heaven. So be nice, be loving in your conversation.

It has to sadden the Lord to see most of the church busy pointing their fingers at each other, while the world looks on and laughs. We argue amongst ourselves like little spoiled children, accusing each other, while the world goes to hell around us. Heresy has become anything that we don't like, or that we don't agree with.

We don't have to agree on everything. Jesus is Lord, He died for our sins, He was resurrected, and by faith in Him we are saved. If we can agree on these things, then let us be happy and not seek out reasons to disagree. Some people eat meat, some do not. Some go to church on Sunday, some do not. Some drink wine, some do not. Some wear dresses, some do not.

People don't have to agree with you to be saved, because you are not God. In a family, the children may not agree or even like one another, but the parents love them all just the same. God loves us all, even those people that we don't like.

So do yourself a favor today and just let the disagreement go. You do not have to be right, and if you are then you should not be so insecure about what others think. If they are wrong, God will fix them sooner or later. Adding more words will usually just broaden the gap between you and them, every single time. Let's agree to disagree.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me see the world through Your eyes. Speak to me and through me and give me the grace to keep my mouth shut until the proper time. Give me wisdom and tact in my relationships, and guide my every step, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: For those following our Creation Photographers group, here is the theme of the week: Good Morning, Creation Photographers! 1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." This week you have a choice: 'Light Shines' or 'Chosen' will be our next fun theme choices and are open for interpretation, as always. Also, you are encouraged to post anything else that inspires you as well. My photos this week (in the group) reflects how I choose to let my light shine as a chosen child of God. May you always sense his light shining on down on you ~ the chosen!! May you always share that love light too! Here is the link: Creation Photographers

Amen to this one! God sees from a different perspective, He looks at what is in the heart which we can not see. He is a much better judge than we are!

This is a very good devotional.  I have been guilty on many occasions and I don't want to be anymore.  Just guide me Father on the right path and to speak only when you want me to.  Thank you Pastor Dion.  You are sure good at what you do.  Have a blessed day.

My experience in Seminary as a student for 8 years is:  many are called, but few are chosen, and this includes many in the Professorships and holding esteemed Department Chairs.  True Believers are not as common in those environs as many would believe or hope.  We, who follow HIM dailly thrru trial and error  learn how unique we are in experiencing HIM.   Not judging them is a calling; we in faith must learn.  It is a long, arduous and sometimes pain-filled process, leading to character formation~one day at a time.   Many, in faith, through personal encounters and discussions have learned;  money was never, what we wanted.  Rather we wanted to know HIM, and the World rejected us just like it rejected HIM!

Amen I agree fully but I can say honestly that as I have gotten older I've matured and that as well as growing in my walk with Jesus has allowed me to be able to just walk away instead of ingaging in fights or arguements thanks again for another great devotional.
