The Whole World In His Hands

  • The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn't dwell in temples made with hands, neither is he served by men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath, and all things. Acts 17:24 WEB

When I was growing up, we used to sing a song called: 'He's got the whole world in His hands' and I believed it. I could just picture God's huge hands holding the world. Then I grew up, got a job, and as life started happening to me, I slowly lost focus of this.

Careers, problems, and bills grew bigger and bigger. The hands of God looked smaller, and smaller. Before long, I could not picture them at all. The bad part of living like this is that everything that we can see, and are working for, is temporary and will pass away. While the unseen things are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).

God's hand had not changed, but my outlook had. He still has the whole world in His hands. The breath of air that you just breathed in came from Him. He provided it for you, and though you cannot even see it, you would die without it. The day will come when it will return to Him (Ecclesiastes 12:7).

Do not lose sight of God's loving hands. Remember the things that He has done in your life. Encourage yourself in the Lord like David did (1Samuel 30:6). Our Heavenly Father is still the Creator of the universe. The problem you are facing may look big in your hands, but it would not even be noticeable in His. Give it to Him and trust Him to take care of it.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You and I know that You do have the whole world in Your hands. You created it, and us Lord. I know that You know best and I choose to trust You this day. Guide me to where I need to be, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: For those interested in capturing or viewing photos of God's creation, here is this week's theme message from Creation Photographers: "Good Morning, Creation Photographers!! John 14:26 "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." 'Reminiscing Days Gone By' will be our next festive theme. Our themes are open for interpretation so you can get creative! You are also encouraged to post anything else that inspires you as well. My photos (in the group) today reflect the first time I realized I was seeing hearts in nature when I had that so blessed feeling, and a family trip to Santa Cruz for my granddaughter's first gymnastics competition. May the Holy Spirit grace you with blessings of peace, love, and joy always!" Here is the link to participate in this group: Creation Photographers group

Amen. God used this to go to my bible and speak to me through a series of steps to tell me that He is faithful. I am impatiently waiting to hear if I will have a programmer job with the federal government of Canada. This job is a big thing for me since it could help me with my financial problems a lot. I have been looking for work as a programmer since August. I am expecting to hear this week, but feeling doubts too. I already gave my references a few weeks ago. I am also feeling stress and having a hard time re-focusing my brain off the other life stressors I have right now and refocus back to my tasks at work.  Please pray for me to feel God's peace. I am so very tired and having a hard day. Thank you pastor Dion and Sylvia for this ministry.

Amen and Amen! Dear Heavenly Father, I put my life into your hands and my trust, there is no greater love than Yours! Please, Holy Spirit, Spirit Divine, by Thy might and power increase my faith and trust, seal me and fill me, asking not just for myself, but also for all my loved ones far and near, in the holy name of my Lord Jesus Christ I ask and pray, Amen!
