Fear Not from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about fear, and the importance of pressing on even though we are afraid. When God calls you to do something, often fear is the first guardian that will be sent to stop you from accomplishing it. The Apostle Paul wrote to Timo...

But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. In praying, don't use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. ...

Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don't you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 WEBA wealthy friend of mine once picked up his daughter's car to take it in for an oil change while she was at work. He stayed gone a really long tim...

The Wine Press

  • Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together! I sought the LORD, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. Psalms 34:3 ESV

David was now in the enemies' camp and surrounded by the relatives of those that he had killed in battle. Saul had intended to kill him in order to preserve his kingship and David had to get out of the country quickly. He crossed the border and entered the Philistine town of Gath hoping to hide from Saul. Gath appropriately means 'the wine press'. David was now out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Not long after this the people began to talk about David: 'Is this not David who they sing about? Saul has struck down his thousands, and David his ten thousands?' David was under immense pressure, so much pressure that he started to act like he was mad (1Sam 21:13). They finally let him go and David then wrote Psalm 34. This poor man cried and the Lord heard him and saved him!

The man who slew bears, lions, and Goliath was pressed like a grape until fear came to the surface. He was taken to the edge of his faith and it looked dark and hopeless, yet God delivered him. No matter how big your faith is, God is able to stretch it a bit further. His tests scale infinitely. Still, He is always there to deliver you in the end. Will you trust Him while in the wine press? It is amazing what comes out.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, strengthen me and help me serve You today without shrinking back. Let Your love and peace cover me, in the name of Jesus I pray.

John 15:5 says; "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

My kitchen is decorated with this scripture theme. I have grapes everywhere ( plastic of course). Along with the grapes ,my place matts have a wine bottle on them. A continual reminder that God is with me, my thoughts remain on the Lord all the while I am in the kitchen. This little theme and scripture help to pull this message of the Wine Press in to better perspective especally with the chaios and adversity that has been in my life. Thank you for this message this morning P. Dion and your faithfulness in posting each day.

Thank you Holy Spirit and Pastor Dion for this message that both answers and confirms prayer also a conversation that I had with my mom this morning. Once again it speaks directly about the troubles, fears and doubts my son Bryon is going through;some things I am dealing with concerning healing, needing His guidence about what He wants me to do with the rest of my time here on earth. Also,an open door for a new job or change of carreer. I was overwhelmed yesterday again with this skin afliction, itching that when I try to do something outside in the heat it aggevates it. I want to be healed of this and start working again. I thank you for praying for me Sunday Pastor Dion.  I 've been praying fervently about this but the enemy has been trying his best to make me doubt even though I sincerly believe that it is Yehoshua's will for me to be healed just like He told the lame man at the pool of Bethesda. Thank you for the reminder that HE is willing and able to deliver. I will trust HIM while in the wine press and relay this messge to my son. I also thank Father Yahweh that the wife of my youth Donielle has been residing with HIM and the host of heaven for 8 years as of today. If she were still here we would have been married for 30 years.I still miss her presence deeply but I'm thankful it not with heart wrenching grief anymore.Just a little sadness but, as I reflect, I'm so thankful of the  progress that's been made in me with Holy Spirit's help. Praise Father,Son and Holy Spirit!

Didn't remember this about David with madness.  It is a huge stretch.  Stretch to burst.  It looks like the madness set him free.  Maybe I don't see this right but when I let out steam not vomiting on someone Is released. Humanely what a situation he was in. The depth of pain must have been hard to experience.  My heart goes out thim if I knew him personally.
