Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God," for God can't be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth dea...

By faith Noah, being warned about things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared a ship for the saving of his house, through which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which ...

Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers; But his delight is in Yahweh's law; On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That brings forth its fruit in its se...

Silence In The Classroom

  • He succeeded in everything he undertook. But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart. 2 Chronicles 32:30 NIV

Hezekiah was a great king in Judah who followed the Lord closely. At his prayer, God sent an angel and wiped out 185,000 Assyrians who were coming to attack Jerusalem (2 Kings 19:35). At his prayer, God healed him and added fifteen years to his life (2 Kings 20:6). Still, there was a time when God left him to test him and to know what was in his heart.

When a teacher is teaching the class, you can ask all the relevant questions that you have about the subject and the teacher will answer them. However when the test comes, there is silence in the classroom.

I know scripture says that He will never leave nor forsake you, but there is a difference in the omnipresence of God which is everywhere and His manifest presence which may or may not be in the room with you.

Those are the times when there is no answer and your tears seem to go unnoticed. When you feel that God has gotten you out on a limb and then abandoned you. Know that you are not really alone. You are simply entering the test phase of what you have been learning. You continue on with the last word given until you have a new one. There is always silence in the classroom during a test.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that You strengthen me and give me the grace to get through these times. Please reveal the pride in my life to me so that I can deal with it before it harms me, in the name of Jesus.

Note: "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer" (Romans 12:12). If you have a prayer need, we are here for you! We and the prayer team are ready to lift you up at our private prayer page: RHM Prayer Network

I love this, "You are simply entering the test phase of what you have been learning''. The purpose of a test is to promote a student to a higher level and that is exactly what God does to belivers.

Thank you for sharing Pastor Dion. God bless you.

I hollered “Hallelujaaaah” when I read this part:

“You continue on with the last word given until you have a new one.”

Exactly the direction and instruction that I needed! Glory to God!!!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that You strengthen me and give me the grace to get through these times. Please reveal the pride in my life to me so that I can deal with it before it harms me, in the name of Jesus. Amen. Watching and waiting for my mom to die is the hardest test of strength I've ever had. Father God, please don't leave me and please  continue to give my family and I your strength and grace to face the days ahead. Thank you Father.
