For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little. Isaiah 28:10 WEB.We had scattered pieces all over the table while we worked on assembling a jigsaw puzzle. It was a total mess. This one was mysteriously difficult, for someone had mistakenly...

God is my rock in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge. My savior, you save me from violence. 2 Samuel 22:3 WEB.David sang this the day the Lord delivered him from all his enemies. Where others saw nothing, David could see the work of the Lord thr...

The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are ...

The Pianist

  • I have said these things to you, while still living with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you. John 14:24 WEB

As I look at my piano, there are twelve keys repeated across the length of the keyboard. There are only seven ivory keys and five ebony, yet a talented pianist can make endless music out of these twelve keys. They can play love songs, sad songs, happy songs, classical and so much more. Every day they may compose something fresh using the same twelve keys.

The Bible has a set amount of words, but the Holy Spirit brings something fresh out of it every day. Each time that you read it, you may learn something new. It is the Holy Spirit that reveals this. Peter and John were uneducated men, yet the teachers of the day were astonished at them (Acts 4:13). It was because the Holy Spirit taught them. When Peter preached his first sermon under the power of the Spirit, about three thousand people were saved (Acts 2:41).

When you read your Bible, first pray and ask God to help you understand His word. The Lord Jesus said that the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send, will teach you all things. Just as a pianist can compose a new song using the same twelve keys, the Holy Spirit can bring new light to an old scripture. With His help, the Bible is an endless volume of relevant knowledge, a living book, that is always fresh, amazing, and beautiful.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please teach me Your word. Help me to understand and remember it. Clear my mind of bad things and bring Your scriptures to remembrance when I need them, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you." (Jeremiah 29:12). If you have a prayer need, we are here for you! We and the prayer team are ready to lift you up at our private prayer page: RHM Prayer Network

Amen! I do not understand why it happens, but I seem to be able to read the Bible over and over. The words are always the same, I guess that some things are not revieled until I am ready for them. Each time I read the same scriptures, I see something completely new. The Bible is truly alive!

God will make this happen when we ask Him for wisdom--not earthly wisdom, but the Godly wisdom promised in the Bible. It will not be denied to anyone who asks!
