Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! Luke 12:2728 ESV
God made Adam and Eve clothing in Genesis 3:21 right after they had broken the only commandment that He had given them. Parents are a lot like this. Children can misbehave, fail to listen, cry, whine and complain, and want things that are bad for them. Yet the parents will still clothe them in the very best garments that they can afford because in the end, they love them.
The Lord Jesus was crucified so that He could clothe us in righteousness. He put on our dirty sin-covered clothing and then clothed us in His gleaming white robe of righteousness. Jesus died on the cross while spiritually wearing the sin of the universe and when we make Him Lord of our life, we put on His gleaming white robe of righteousness.
Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool (Isaiah 1:18 ESV).
No matter what you have done today, God loves you and wants to take care of you. He has provided you with new clothing and taken your past away with all of its dirty laundry. Your past only exists in your memory.
