In the fourth watch of the night, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It's a ghost!" and they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying "Cheer up! I AM! Don't be afraid." Peter answered him and said...

Anchor of the Soul from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. When people lose hope, they lie down and die. They lose the will to live and fight any longer. Hopelessness is utter despair, the belief that nothing good will happen. When you begin to think like this, it will bring a desire to die. A ...

The Game Changer

  • But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to His own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:4-5 ESV

When I was about twenty years old, I was playing music at a party one night, and suddenly the Holy Spirit came on me with such a loving presence. He instantly changed my life, my desires, and my plans. I did not know who He was, but I wanted to. I placed my guitar in the case, said good-bye to the band, went home and into the bedroom and made things right with God that night. The next morning I got up, went to church, and later got baptized. I started Bible college, got my degree, and here I am. That was certainly not my game plan.

I grew up very legalistic, and viewed God as a mean super-being waiting for me to make a mistake. After a while I learned that I was not very good at keeping rules, and that by now He was probably really angry at me, so I avoided Him and the places that I thought He would be. That night the loving kindness of the Lord chased me down and I have never viewed God the same again. No one had to preach to me, He drew me like a magnet. He loves us more than we can even comprehend, even when we ignore Him and go our own way, and He is neither mad nor mean.

Wherever you stand with God today, know that He is pursuing you, wanting a deeper relationship with you, and that He will never give up the pursuit. You can try to avoid Him, but He will come to where you are. He is the game changer.

Prayer: Father, send Your Holy Spirit into my life and change things as you see fit. I know that You have the best plans for me and I surrender to You, in the name of Jesus.

As I was reading your message, Pastor Dion, this song popped into my head: "I'm so glad that Jesus loved me, Jesus loved me ....... Jesus loves even me". He is so longsuffering, faithful and true, and He doesn't give up on us! Thank you Pastor for touching my heart again today and putting a song into my heart! Thank you Jesus !!!
