For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn't hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth....

For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees? But if we hope for that which we don't see, we wait for it with patience. Romans 8:24 WEB'Oh I don't want to face tomorrow. I have a bad, bad, feeling about this.' On and on we go into a spiral of sel...

Baby Jesus from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about “Who is Jesus?” I feel that we take it for granted that people actually know that much about Him. In the world we see Jesus as a baby in a manger, then crucified on a cross. The life of Jesus seems to span...

Sifted Like Wheat

  • Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers. Luke 22:31 ESV

Peter told Jesus that he was ready to go to prison and die for Him if needed, a very bold statement. Jesus told Peter that satan had asked to test him, to reveal what was inside of him, and that he was fixing to deny that he even knew Jesus three times. Then He added, and when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.

Jesus knew that Peter was going to be tested for a season, and that Peter was going to fail. He wanted Peter to get back up, to continue and to strengthen the others, even though he failed the test. Sometimes we are tested to reveal what is inside of us to ourselves. Peter had no idea so much fear was inside of him, until after this. Sifting strains out the bad and brings things that are hidden into plain view.

Maybe in the past you have made a bold statement that you would serve God no matter what, and then something happened that changed that. Get back up, keep going, continue on God's path. Jesus knew that would happen before He called you, but He called you just the same. He is not mad at you and one day you will be free.

kylie dempsey
kylie dempsey I'm sure I've failed many tests....but I keep running after Him...I just want to be in the Throne room...loving Him in my broken way. I see myself as one of my children...When they spend time with me...I love it....When they tell me that they love me....it makes my day (especially if you have teenagers!)....I see God like that :-) :-) He is so good and so loving.

Kathy Banfield
Kathy Banfield I feel pretty low today--I did something awful yesterday and can't seem to shake it off--I cursed at an old lady! She "started it"--claimed I was wearing a brace but didn't really need it. So, like a child, I was angered! Please pray for me. THANKS!

Twila Stierwalt
Twila Stierwalt God knows how He can best use us, and is their for us when we think we are all alone. This is such a good message, It always turns out for the best, even when we can't see the full picture.

Carol Pady
Carol Pady Our Christian lives are subjected to different levels of testing. As we mature in Christ these tests don't get easier, often they get harder. God is molding us and once we have passed the elementary tests, He requires us to pass the higher levels. We are constantly put to the test, each time we stay the course and continue in prayer and faith we are given a passing grade. Sometimes it is so hard but with perseverance we can be successful.  Much is to be learned in this . It is up to us to not fail. We cannot pass these tests by our own volition,  only through Him will we succeed!

Kathy Harris
Kathy Harris Thank you so much for the conformation  this morning because I really did needed to hear that the lord spoke to me threw this because I was thinking about doing something in regards to something happening to me. I know better but sometimes we feel we can do something different and it will help when really it only destroys everything that you have been blessed with.

Marilyn DeJongh
Marilyn DeJongh I don't the Lord expects perfection.  We are human and have those emotions.  He loves us, even when we do something not "Christian-like".  If we were perfect, we wouldn't need Him.  There are days, that I too, have to remember that.

Nell Neathery
Nell Neathery Looking forward to freedom with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit after I have gotten back up, and I will keep going and continuing on God's path.  Thank You, Lord, for protecting me from the past "happenings" that would help me to serve You no matter what.  Starting today and every day following, guide me with making bold statements for You.  Thanking You in Jesus' name, Amen

Yada Yah
Yada Yah I think the deepest facet about growing our faith is standing on the belief that the first one took  THAT being said :) The Israelites practiced cleaning rights since the first tabernacle went up, the New Testament also ambiguously talks about cleansing ritual. Likely inclusive of feet washing. Lots of mystery tho. I have "baptized" myself (after the main one) dozens of times. Any time I feel stuck in taking more of me (pride strife worry etc) off and more of Christ on. Anytime I feel buried in guilt or shame or want to feel closer to Him. I love the intimacy. Light some candles, grab some oils & take a prayer bath. Die die die & die again. Until more of me comes alive. The mystery is so beautiful when I rest in it instead of worry about what I should do to make me right. I cant do it. Thats the whole point & remembering that gives me peace and hope. He's my only shot at this
