Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers; But his delight is in Yahweh's law; On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That brings forth its fruit in its se...

When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean." Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8...

The Master of the Storm

  • But as they sailed, he fell asleep. A wind storm came down on the lake, and they were taking on dangerous amounts of water. They came to him, and awoke him, saying, 'Master, master, we are dying!' He awoke, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and it was calm. He said to them, 'Where is your faith?' Luke 8:23 WEB

Who is going to tell Him? They had put it off as long as possible, but now the water was getting pretty deep inside the boat and someone had to wake Jesus up. It is not easy to ask for help, especially for men, but as the water grew deeper and they began to sink, they worked that out.

Earlier the ministry group had set sail across the lake in their fishing boat, and Jesus fell asleep. The disciples were navigating the boat all by themselves. After all, some of them were experienced fishermen and they knew all about boats. Peter and the others probably felt pretty good about this and thought that they had it all under control, nothing but smooth sailing ahead.

They probably thought, "No problem, we have done this a thousand times', but suddenly, a storm came up and the boat began filling with water. The group was in great danger and they began to panic, but Jesus, slept on. When they finally woke Jesus with, 'Master, Master, we are dying!' He calmed the storm for them.

Will Jesus let you struggle against a storm in your own strength? Apparently so, but they only needed to ask for His help to change the situation. James said, 'You do not have, because you do not ask" (James 4:2).

If a storm is raging in your life and your faith is not strong enough to stop it, call on Jesus, The Master of the Storm. Do not assume that He will step in and calm everything without you asking Him. Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in" (Revelation 3:20). He does not beat down your door, but if you ask, He just may help you today. You can worry about it, or pray about it and let God help you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I know that You are the Master of the storm. Please let Your winds blow me to where I need to be. Bring Your peace to my life and let me walk in the goodness of God Almighty. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Yes, we appreciate your patience, everyone :)! We are so blessed that the update went well, but just like any major construction job, there is the nitty gritty cleanup work that just takes time and diligence ;). We love y'all <3!

Thank you so much, Lynn, we really like it, too :)! At this point, it's mainly finding out about little issues from people using different devices, browsers, operating systems, etc, that would be difficult to dig up in normal testing ;). We are getting there :)!

Haha, Jim, I believe it was Rick Godwin said, in a "funny not funny" way, that one of the signs of the Holy Spirit is "trouble" ;). Of course, that's not always the case, but we certainly will have times of testing and refining. The Lord won't leave us as a yucky lump of clay :D!

Amen! No matter the size of the storm or how long the storm is raging we need to always go first to Jesus, trust in Him and He will either calm the storm or calm His sheep.

O lord my God, You calmed the storm, Jesus, and it was calm, because you are the Lord and Master, the creator of it all! Please increase my faith, help me to pray without ceasing and keep on asking, knocking on Your door, and trusting you for the outcome. Please calm the storms that we all are currently facing within our families, our RHM family, and around us, not giving names - because You know all things as You look into our hearts! Please hear our prayers, in the name of Jesus Christ I ask and pray, Amen!
