For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we haven't sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:8 WEBWhi...

Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the clothing and the horse, as you have said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all that you have spoken. Then took Haman the clothing and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and caused him to ride thro...

An Infinite Loop

  • Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient. Matthew 6:31 WEB

I was working on a software program for us once to help automate somethings. Each time I would open the test application on the computer, the processor usage would climb to one hundred percent, and the computer would slow to a crawl. The cursor would just show an hour glass or the spinning ball, and it would soon become unresponsive.

All the system resources were being used up, but it was accomplishing nothing. In the code, I had forgotten to include a proper break out, and the computer application was now stuck in an infinite loop. It was repeating the same thing over and over again, endlessly, and it would never move on. Eventually, all the remaining system resources would be used up, and you would finally get 'Not Responding'.

Worrying about tomorrow is a lot like this. You try and solve tomorrow's problems in your mind. When you fail, you try again, and again, and again. It soon becomes an infinite loop and you lie in bed staring at the ceiling unable to sleep. This will drain all of your energy until you are completely exhausted and no longer responding to input from others. The noise level in your head will grow louder, and it will keep you from hearing God's still small voice. You become so tired, and you have solved absolutely nothing.

Stop. Break out and through that wall of doubt and fear. God has tomorrow taken care of. When the problem arrives, the answer will soon appear. Today is the tomorrow that you were worried about yesterday. Do not get caught in a loop of worrying about tomorrow and miss living today. Trust God, and tomorrow will take care of itself, just as yesterday did.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I pray that You bring the break through in my life. Help me break out of this loop and to reach a new level. Fill me up with Your Holy Spirit, cover me with Your peace, and let me be a carrier of Your love on the earth. I choose to trust You with tomorrow, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Thank you for this message. I read through it first thing this morning. It did not soak in till I went to church got prayed for to overcome anxiety and I have been hearing God speak to me in little areas gradually dissipating the anxiety. I felt prompted to read this again and I now understand this better.

I do believe God is getting ready to breakthrough in my life.

The enemy is obviously trying to prevent it. But he can’t because I belong to God.

This is what I needed.

Thank you...

Great message, one day closer! This is a word that I needed to hear. We are so close to selling our house but still have some things holding up the sale, we are running very low on finances and only have enough money to pay for our Mortgage through July. We have been praying for the Lord to give us a break-through with our situation that at times seems hopeless, but I know that with God nothing is impossible. Everything in God's timing and we have to just trust that He will get us through these difficult moments. One day closer is so great to hear! Thanks Pastor Dion!
