For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little. Isaiah 28:10 WEB.We had scattered pieces all over the table while we worked on assembling a jigsaw puzzle. It was a total mess. This one was mysteriously difficult, for someone had mistakenly...

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are ...

Trapped

  • Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, from the traps of the workers of iniquity. Let the wicked fall together into their own nets while I pass by. Psalms 141:9 WEB

A simple but very effective trap that has been used through the ages is the pit trap. Hunters dig a deep pit and then place sharpened sticks in the bottom of it. They cover it with foliage and place something tantalizing in the center to lure the prey to it. When the prey goes after the bait, they fall into the pit and are caught in the trap. Something that looked really good, turned out to be hiding something very bad.

While we are busy trying to live a Christian life, the enemy is busy digging pits for us to fall into. he tries to place tantalizing treats before us and if we fall for it, he will expose us and then try to draw as much attention to our failure as possible. Fallen Christians being laughed at by the world are the devil's delight. Broken homes, broken people, and various addictions all started with a single thought. When people fall, they often become trapped in an endless loop and just cannot seem to get out of it.

Maintain a healthy balance in your life. When you start feeling those little warnings from the Holy Spirit, back away. Will the Lord let you fall into a trap? Apparently, because we get there by following our own lusts and desires, not His. A fish goes after the bait because something inside of them wants it. If they are not interested, then the bait does not work.

David prayed for the Lord to keep him from the traps of His enemies (Psalm 141:9). Jesus told us in the model prayer, 'And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one' (Matthew 6:13). Be watchful of the tantalizing treats in your path today, and if you have already fallen, know that the Lord can still lead you out of it. It is not over yet.

Prayer: Heavenly Father please keep from falling into the traps of my enemies. Help me to see them clearly for what they are and avoid them. Please send the Comforter like You promised and cover me with Your peace, love, and grace today. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." ~ Isaiah 9:6 - Merry Christmas! We are so blessed to be able to celebrate Christmas with our RHM family. Thank you all for the wonderful cards, encouraging notes, and support over this season, and during the year. We love you and all pray that you have a joyful Christmas and New Year!

The first Christmas looked a lot different than it does today. The ones dressed in red were Roman soldiers, there was no shopping, just a long journey to be counted in Joseph's hometown of Bethlehem by the dead line. Then it was so crowded, they could not find a place to stay, so they ended up in a stable for the night - and it was there Mary gave birth to Jesus. My, my, how times have changed.  Merry Christmas Everyone!

Happy Birthday Adonai Yeshua! May the joy of the Lord be in you all RHM family! May God bless each and every one of us in a special way with a gift of healing and victory over our circumstances! May God help us to be content to know that His grace is sufficient and to be content while waiting for His timeing in answering our prayers. I'm so thankful for all the times God has delivered me when I have erred and fallen. Also, when I've fallen into a trap that had come upon me suddenly, not of my own error. I believe God has allowed some traps in order to teach me that bad things happen to those trying to live His way just because the evil one wants to draw us away/distract us from God. Regardless of the situation,Father God has proven Himself to be my deliverer every time! May each and everyone of you have a blessed Christmas with knowing just how much Father God,Lord Jesus and Holy Spirit loves us...........

Thank you for these revitalizing devotions. We must keep our thoughts captive, because, as you said, every addiction and every sin, began with a thought. Please Lord, strengthen our control on our thoughts, and take them into captivity, strengthend by the comforter so that our thoughts please yoou.

Love the illustrationof the pit with bait to light up what Satan's traps are like.  Keep me Spiritually awake with discernment to Satan's traps for me.  My husband also.  Bless a l l who follow You, Lord, to continually awake in You.  And to keep on allowing me to see, hear and know what You want me to let go of and or not have in my life.  Things upsetting Your heartLord. Continue to fill my heart and infill me with Your Holy Spirit.  Amen
