They traveled from Mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. The soul of the people was very discouraged because of the journey. The people spoke against God and against Moses: 'Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there is no water, and our soul loathes this disgusting food!' Numbers 21:4 WEBThe Israelites slowly made their way towards the promised land, but it took a lot longer than it should. In fact, it was only an eleven-day journey (Deuteronomy 1:2), but it took forty years because of bad attitudes, and disobedience. Grumblings of "I am thirsty!", "Where is the food" and "Are we there yet?" were probably heard throughout the crowd.
When God provided food for them, they hated it. Numbers 11:6 tells us: 'but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!' Complaining all the way, they went around and around the same mountain until they all died. The complainers never did enter the promised land. All of them died in the wilderness, then their children went in along with Joshua and Caleb.
It is human nature to want to get where we are going. We set out to go to somewhere and we just want to get there. Always looking at tomorrow: when the weekend comes we are going to' when our vacation comes we are going to' when we retire we are going to' while completely ignoring our life that is quickly passing by us today.
Remember this: Your life is happening while on this journey, and how you react to it will determine how long that it takes you to reach your goals. Enjoy today while it is today, lighten up and laugh a little. Keep a positive attitude. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.
Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You so much for the food that You have provided for me, and I appreciate it. Thank You for all that You do for me. Thank You that I am still breathing today. Hum interestingly put!! In recovery you hear from winners and winers--all attitude!!
I have recently found out this is something I am guilty of without even recognizing it. We as human beings have such a hard time understanding that God is fully in charge. I know for me, God showed me what He wanted to do, and I just thought I had to make it happen. Boy was I wrong, after 10 years, I am finally ready to let God be God and just follow along. I have found it is very easy to forget, He is God, not me!
Amen brother.
Amen, Jim, so true <3!

Thank you loving Father for today, yesterday and whatever comes my way. Lord without you in my life nothing else matters. I am truly Blessed, grateful and very thankful for each day, for it is truly a precious gift. Father in Heaven, forgive me for complaining about the insignificant things that don't matter and help me focus only on you! Amen!!
I say this quite often .....life is full! As a achristian never boring as some may think when you are a Christian. I just remember the awareness of Jesus in my life & how blown away I was. My responsonse was, Yes, I want to follow You!! 1979. The journey has been as Hannah Hurnard's..High Feet in High Places. What a journey description that was! Loved it! Read often. Going upward with the Shepard of Love that led into valleys low, comforting places to rest in His care with love for her..for us and then trek on. If you haven't read this ...Much Afraid(her name given in book) had a limp. A limp relating to all as something else we deal with in life traveling with two friends Suffering and Sorrow. Current friends that vpbecome two new friends at rather end I laughed to read saying ...yes...yes..yes! I find simplicity in this Christian life I leave daily with other days mixed given to God or they are much to bear. Recent prayer is a mortgage refinance will go thru in time to pay taxes due by by end of August. Never been late and looking to God who owns everything and reigns over these things. He can stop time when needed He can push it thru. The song playing is singing ...God will make away....
Amen, Cheryl, and praying with you for the refinance, and for His provision in all ways that are needed <3!
Praise God! Thanks Pastor Todd! Heavenly Father I thank You so much for the food that You have provided for me, and I appreciate it. Thank You for all that You do for me. Thank You that I am still breathing today. I am not ashamed to say that my help comes from You Lord and I am truly grateful. In the Name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
