Anchor of the Soul from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. When people lose hope, they lie down and die. They lose the will to live and fight any longer. Hopelessness is utter despair, the belief that nothing good will happen. When you begin to think like this, it will bring a desire to die. A ...

The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, "Why don't your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?" By Sunrise

  • They said to the messengers who came, Thus shall you tell the men of Jabesh Gilead, Tomorrow, by the time the sun is hot, you shall have deliverance. The messengers came and told the men of Jabesh; and they were glad. 1 Samuel 11:9 WEB

The Ammonites besieged Jabesh Gilead, and it looked pretty hopeless for the people living there. They told the people to give up and come out, but they held on and sent out messengers. When Saul heard the news, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he told them to wait one more day. That by the time the sun was hot, they would be delivered. He then gathered men and at sunrise the battle began. The Ammonites were defeated, and the city was rescued from the siege.

The people of Jabesh were pressured by the enemy to give up, but they held on for one more day, and God sent them help. Sometimes when we are under pressure, we need to wait just one more day for our deliverance to arrive. In a matter of hours, things changed for them. Their breakthrough was so close, but if they had surrendered to the enemy, it would have been a defeat instead of a victory.

So don't give up today when things look dark or hopeless, because it can be so close. The Spirit of the Lord watches over you and nothing is hidden from Him. It just may be that by the time the sun is hot tomorrow, that your situation will have changed for the better.

Prayer: Heavenly Father please send the Comforter to me today. You know my needs before I even ask them, and above all Lord, I need more of You. Help me hang on, draw my heart to You, and guide me into all that You have for me, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

So true how many times I wanted to give up. I cried I prayed and eventually tired myself out and fell asleep. The next day things had suddenly changed. I must always remember it is God's will and His timing for trials we go through. So yes Pastor Dion wait another day and especially wait on God's timing love grace and mercy. He loves us more than we can ever understand. As for me I will wait another day. Beautiful devotional. Thank you Pastor Dion. Truly Rose Sicilia

Deu. 33:26-29, Their is none like the God of Isrial!(You do this for us today). You ride the heavens to my help, and through the skies in Your Majesty. You my eternal God are my dwelling place, and underneath me are Your everlasting arms, You drive out the enemy from me and say distroy, so I dwell in security.

Thank You my LORD for Your love for me and what You do for me. Help me to wait for You to act in my life, I want to trust in You and Your timing.

Amen when the troubles in our lives become overwhelming our prayers must come more frequently to His throne. We must press on against the fiercest battles , clinging to our Abba Father's hand, hoping beyond hope, and enduring all with faith, for this will cause Our Father's mighty hand to hold us tighter as He brings in the suddenly, the moment when all tides turn and the storm passes and the wonderful sun breaks through.
