Isaac entreated Yahweh for his wife, because she was barren. Yahweh was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. Genesis 25:21 WEBRebekah was barren and could not have children, but when her husband Isaac prayed for her, she became pregnant with twins. If you read the details, Isaac was for...

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed. Mark 1:34 NIVIt was early in the morning as I walked into my little prayer room. After praying for a few minutes I sat in the quiet solitude, mostly wondering how we we...

Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn't repent. 'Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. Bu...

More Than Enough

  • Yahweh said to Gideon, By the three hundred men who lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand; and let all the people go every man to his place. So the people took food in their hand, and their trumpets; and he sent all the men of Israel every man to his tent, but retained the three hundred men: and the camp of Midian was beneath him in the valley. Judges 7:7 WEB

Facing an army that could not even be counted, Gideon and his men walked down to the water. He had started this mission with 32,000 men which was already too small a number. God then told Gideon to send all the men that were fearful back home, and over two-thirds (22,000) of the army left (Judges 7:3).

Now there were only 10,000 men left with him and to make matters worse, God wanted to divide those as well, so he took them down to the water and God sorted them again. When Gideon came up from the water, he had only 300 men left with him, but God said that was enough to accomplish the mission, and it was.

Gideon had more than enough in front of him, but he did not realize it. He was scared when he had 32,000 men with him, but was victorious with 300. Jesus took a few fish and fed thousands (Matthew 15:38, Mark 6:44). Peter preached a sermon that caused 3,000 people to come to the Lord in one meeting (Acts 2:41).

Sometimes we have more than enough right in front of us, yet we do not see it. We often learn that God has already provided what we need, we just don't know how to use it, or we let fear cause us to not believe Him. Our limitation is always what we do not know, not what we do not have. 'My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge' (Hosea 4:6).

Prayer: Heavenly Father please help me see the things that You have already placed in my life and teach me to use them properly. Lord I know that You know best and I submit to Your will for my life. Teach me what I need to know. Guide me into all that You have for me. I am Yours, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Aaaaaaamen! This is so true! I remember a court battle a few years ago. My accuser had money, one of the top lawyers in the city, charm, great oratorical skills, and was able to afford a copy of the deposition for the trial. My lawyer was good but not as well known. She was a believer, so that made a difference. I could not afford the $1,800 for a copy of the deposition for trial, so she felt somewhat limited in what she could do. I was shaking with fear. But even in my fear, I fasted, prayed, sought the Lord. I declared scriptures day in and day out. My accuser often mocked me, laughed at me, and taunted me about my God, my finances, and everything that I lacked. I would cry and cry, shake with fear, but I would continually pray, fast, and declare scripture. It felt like nothing was happening at first, but God moved miraculously! I won a landslide victory with less money, with no deposition, with a lesser known attorney,

I had stumbled in my words when I was on the stand during the trial. I wasn't as articulate as my accuser. I was afraid of losing. But God showed up, delivered me, vindicated my name, gave me favor, and a landslide victory! I was actually in a Bible Study about Gideon (by author Priscilla Shirer from the movie "War Room") at the time of the trial. I felt the Lord moving in my heart each week during that study, and it encouraged me as I went back and forth to court. It was my Gideon moment... to see my God move on my behalf with the least in the natural, but the most in the Spirit. Not only did I win, but my accuser had to pay me in the end. God be praised! He is a real and living and ever-loving God. He will always come quickly to the defense of His children! Glory to the Most High God!

Isn´t it strange. While I was walking my dog this morning my thoughts went back and forth. Worrying about the future and my finances. Suddenly I heard a voice inside of me asking why I worried - I´ve always had just what I need. And then I read your message - so this must be God´s way of telling me not to worry. Thank you.

Kathy, I believe that even if you have one little spark compared to someone else's bonfire, that spark may be the very thing that someone needs :).
