Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. Daniel 6:23 ESV
They took Daniel to the edge of the lions' den and let him see all of the half-starved lions prowling below them. The stench drifting upwards was horrible. I am sure the soldiers stood back a little ways as they pushed him to the edge of the pit. Then with a shove Daniel was falling through the air, right into the hungry mouths below.
On the way down he could hardly believe that after serving God and the kings uncompromisingly for over eighty years, that he was now being fed to the lions. What a retirement plan this was'they sealed the pit with a stone and it became dark with the sound of panting hungry lions pacing the floor. After a long dark stress-filled night, the dawn finally came and Daniel was unharmed. He was taken out of the pit, and his enemies were thrown in and devoured.
Tomorrow will be a better day. The dawn will come and no matter how bad it looks at night you will come through it unscathed. God will deliver you from the half-starved lions. As Daniel did in his darkest hour, just continue to trust in God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I ask that You deliver me from the enemy. Protect me and my family Lord. Right the wrongs in my life and give me a fresh vision for the future, in the name of Jesus I pray.
Note: Good morning! The highlighted group of the week is "Real Support for Military Families": this group is a place to receive and offer encouragement and prayer for members of the military and their families. We recognize that the families of those who serve in particular have daily burdens that often go unnoticed. If you would like to be part of this community, either as part of a military family, or just someone who would like to pray for them, please do join them! ALSO, the Creation Photographers theme of the week is "a gift God gave you" or "a sacred space", based on John 11:25-26. As always, you are free to post anything else that inspires you, too!
Thank you for your protection Lord Jesus and the vision of the future, amen.
Dear God get my daughter out of her lions' den unscathed and bring her home. Amen.

Amen thank you pastor Todd for this encouraging devotional message. It gives me hope to continue to trust God. It inspite of what is going on around me or in my life Thank you Lord for protecting ne and my family from half strave lions who try to attack me and my family.
Aaaaaaamen!!!
Hallelujaaaaahhhh!!! With tears in my eyes, I can TRULY say that I have lived this!!! It was dark, scary, and I didn't know if or how I could possibly make it. But God pulled me OUT of the pit...unscathed; and He threw my accusers/enemies into the pit they created for me. And as much as they are committed to their god (they are of a different religion), I know that deep in ther hearts, they have to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my God is real! I think they are too proud to admit it. When they did the evil things that they did to me, they laughed at me when I told them that God would work on my behalf. Now 5&1/2 years later, the tables have turned, and God has delivered me and turned the tables on them. I do not gloat in their suffering. I pray for them. I only say this to declare that God is real, He is faithful, and He will always defend, uphold, and come through for His children.
Thank you Lord that You protect me and my family from the starving lions! Amen.
