Anchor of the Soul from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. When people lose hope, they lie down and die. They lose the will to live and fight any longer. Hopelessness is utter despair, the belief that nothing good will happen. When you begin to think like this, it will bring a desire to die. A ...

The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, "Why don't your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?" He answered them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors me with their lips, But their heart is far f...

Do You See What I See

  • Jesus answered him, 'Simon, I have something to tell you.' He said, 'Teacher, say on.' A certain lender had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. When they couldn't pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most?' Simon answered, 'He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most.' He said to him, 'You have judged correctly.' Luke 7:40 WEB

As Jesus reclined on a low couch at the table, with His head near the table and His feet away from it, a former prostitute crept into the house and stood over His feet. She began to cry and her tears fell on the feet of Jesus. She let her hair down (which women never did in public) and began to wipe His feet with her hair, to dry her tears from them. After this, she kissed His feet and anointed them with very expensive perfume, which the women cherished.

Simon the Pharisee was disgusted and thought that she should not even be here in his house, and she was certainly not welcome at his table. He said to himself that Jesus was no prophet or He would have known who this woman was that was touching Him.

Jesus did know, and He told a parable about two debtors who were forgiven of their debt, one five hundred denarii and the other fifty. A denarii was a day's wage for a laborer. He then asked Simon who would love the moneylender more. Simon answered that it was the one who owed more, and Jesus told him that he had judged rightly. The moneylender forgave them, then the people loved him.

Simon felt that he was holy and had no sin because Pharisees kept a long set of rules, while the woman knew that she was a sinner and regretted it. Simon saw the woman for what she used to be. Jesus saw who the woman was now. Simon could not see beyond her past, while Jesus forgave her past. The Pharisees were exclusive, while Jesus was inclusive. How could the religious leaders of the day see things so differently from God?

It does not matter what you have done in the past; you can be forgiven today. When you come into the Lord's presence, you will find forgiveness, acceptance, and love. Religious people and satan have a lot in common. They will keep looking at your past and try to make you feel like trash so they can feel righteous about their own mistakes. Jesus sees who you are now. Lift up your head and know that God loves you no matter what you have done in the past. You are welcome at His table.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, let me see those around me, through Your eyes. Help me to see the good in people and to love them, as You love them. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Blessings to you Mari at this time of your heavy heart.  May the Lord show you He wants to help carry your daughter for you as He did for me long ago.  She is still in His hands.  My heart was so heavy and weary.  I experienced that relief once arrived at that place.  Prov13:12 was given to me in the Spirit to relay what was happening in me.  As a Husband as He is to us the Bride His desire to carry that which I experienced about my daughter and her plight.  It ripped and tore at my heart.  He had a better idea I couldn't see or even think it is the way in His love He wanted of me to do..So much He has for our children, for us for a l l His children and that is to be the berden bearer!!  Thank you Lord!!  Blessings to you Mari!

Amen my past or future failings do not define me. When I stumble He is faithful to lift me up. Every new day comes with new mercy. We are not the same today as we were yesterday, for every day brings new experiences and more choices and decisions that we have to make. We will make right choices and we will make wrong, as long as we dwell in this carnal flesh. Our lives are a constant battle against evil, but Jesus is faithful to always walk with us in green pastures, on the water and through the fire. He will never forsake His sheep.

Great!  If I tried keeping a bunch of rules I would have to write them on my hands & other places do I could gain perfection.  Thank you, Lord for paying the price to set us free from slavery to the Law.  Putting myself in the scene of the lady coming in to bless Jesus for what He had done for me...I would want to do as she with no caring of who was present.  I so felt that way when my realization of what He did & I received Him in my heart.  I was young 19-20 and up to no good.  I could hear Him or got great impression from Him...Get to church He'd say. What slovenly heart thing she did.  Complete abandonment..No care of who was present.  That is how it should be all the time total abandonment to Him who did the same for me!!
