Isaac entreated Yahweh for his wife, because she was barren. Yahweh was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. Genesis 25:21 WEBRebekah was barren and could not have children, but when her husband Isaac prayed for her, she became pregnant with twins. If you read the details, Isaac was for...

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed. Mark 1:34 NIVIt was early in the morning as I walked into my little prayer room. After praying for a few minutes I sat in the quiet solitude, mostly wondering how we we...

Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn't repent. 'Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. Bu...

Make An End Of It

  • He said, 'Take the arrows;' and he took them. He said to the king of Israel, 'Strike the ground;' and he struck three times, and stopped. The man of God was angry with him, and said, 'You should have struck five or six times. Then you would have struck Syria until you had consumed it; whereas now you will strike Syria just three times.' 2 Kings 13:18 WEB

Joash had struggled with Syria for years and Israel had been invaded repeatedly. Cities were taken and then retaken. It was a constant struggle. The prophet Elisha told him what to do, but Joash did half as much as Elisha intended. The struggle could have ended then if he would have continued doing what God had instructed him to do.

Many times when struggling with an addiction or bondage, we stop just short of making an end of it. We have it beaten, it is almost dead, we are nearly free, but then we stop and it begins to grow stronger again. We are soon struggling with it once more. Once again, we did not see it completely through to the end. You have to be ruthless, desperate, and relentless to get free of it.

God will help you get free from the things that hold you. He will guide you, but you must work with Him one day at a time. You have to continue to do your part, until the end of it. It is like climbing a slippery hill. When you fall, get back up and take another step forward. If you lay there you will slide right back down to the bottom and have to start over. Get up and take the next step towards freedom.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please renew my energy and clear my mind. Help me to see what could be. Refresh my hope. I want what You want. Your kingdom come, my kingdom go. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: The highlighted group of the week is God''s Children Prayer Group, a private group (all are welcome, but only group members see the posts) whose purpose is to pray for the children of this world that are sick or going through a difficulty in which they need to see God show up for them in a big way. All group members are invited to post information about kids going through such difficulties so we can collectively and individually pray for them and be witness to miracles that God does in their lives. ALSO, the Creation Photographers theme of the week "All the Colors of March", based Genesis 9:13. As always, you are free to post anything else that inspires you, too! You can find these or any of our other groups under the groups link on the website menu. Have a blessed day!

could be so true! Many are their own persons making great strides! I've found in recovery with a persons tools of lofe lost hindered over looked to be the case!! As I read this I recalled when I first stepped into Recovery here in Florida!! Traveling a long distance suffering in that. Have lived under a bridge for over a week waiting for a bed, was very sobering!! What I recall the most was My deep inside coming back too life! Excitment-Hope-Joy-noticing the good stuff in Me that had been crushed!!  Living in the world we do-its amazing the opposing forces here!! Bombardment! Old habits desires-tacking the easy way!! Addiction is jes that! Some thing that brings relief! As I live on the edge as I have been, I can't for get the serious walk I reached, staing in Him for a substancial amount of time!! Surrendering self-seeking Him through prayer, meditation, giving ones all to it! To begin to feel some thing! To truely be guided.. Hearing --hearing, being guided-thats heavy!! I feel all I've been through is lifes experiences that make Me more understandable of the ones around Me I chose too help!! We're in a lost world going down! The question if you believe, where will you be when you die. Is there a place or nothing! Thats the question!!!!

My brother was an alchoholic and I began to pray for him continually. Then, that year on his birthday, he was pulled over and arrested for DWI and put in jail. I thought that would be an eye-opener for him but it wasn't. I still continued to pray for him to quit drinking and the following year, on his birthday AGAIN, he was pulled over and put in jail for DWI. When I picked him up that day I told him somebody was trying to tell him something. Yet he continued. After several years of me continuously praying for him,I was driving home from church one Sunday night and I noticed an accident near my house with all kinds of lights and sirens going on but didn't think too much about it until I got a call at 4 in the morning from my brother asking me to pick him up from the ER. It had been his accident I saw and the Jaws of life had to break him free but there wasn't a scratch on him and thankfully nobody was hurt in the accident When he got in my car he reeked of alchohol and I knew this was the answer to my prayer! But 2 weeks later he continued to drink. I realized that God was answering my prayer but my brother was the one who had to make the decision to quit. I stopped praying for him then and there. About a year later I heard a preacher say to keep on praying until your prayer is answered so I started to pray for him again. Two years later he checked himself into Re -hab ,quit drinking and never looked back!! Praise the Lord. He went back to college for computer tech and graduated with a 4.0 average !! Pastor Dion you have some competition!! :)

Praise God!  Good morning!  Thanks Pastor Todd!  Lord, Help me to follow through with You everyday.  Eradicate everything that is not like You from my heart.  Help me to know You better, to love You more, and to trust You completely.  In Jesus' Name.  Amen.

Thank you Pastor Dion. What an inspiring message. Keep on going ...don't give up....  At times I'm guilty of just lying there and not moving and feeling sorry for myself, instead of getting up and taking the next step.. A bit like a very old song." Pick yourself up," dust yourself off and start all over again... I need to keep on praying and keep on going..Thanks for this reminder. Amen.
